Age: 5|  Weight: 11-12| J: Lizzie Kelly(3)| T: Nick Williams| OR:  99
6/1
Has yet to beat a rival home in three chase starts, though best effort came at Wincanton over this sort of trip behind useful Rayvin Black. May improve now sent handicapping.
2

Native Gamut21
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-11| J: Lee Edwards| T: A Ralph| OR:  98
11/2
Point-to-point winner on good ground in March last year but has struggled in four outings over fences for this yard. Must improve now tackling a handicap, market may reveal more.
3
Horse silk
Fact Flow21
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-7| J: R T Dunne| T: D Burchell| OR:  94
3/1
Lightly-raced and improved dramatically when springing 66/1 shock on handicap chase bow at Uttoxeter (2m6½f, good to soft) this month. Goes up 7lb and down in trip, has to be considered after that effort.

Spock31
Age: 13|  Weight: 11-0| J: Miss L Brooke(7)| T: Lady S Brooke| OR:  87| D
25/1
Seven wins in 49-race career over fences thus far, latest being at Hereford (2m5f, soft) in December when running from 12lb out of the handicap. Poor in six runs since however. Hard to predict when he'll turn it on again.

Ronnie Lawsont122
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-13| J: R Johnson| T: Tim Vaughan| OR:  86
9/2
Competitive in pair of staying chases at Southwell and Catterick either side of New Year, his best efforts since returning from more than 900 days off, goes on decent ground and should give a good account.
6

Mr Bachsterp34
Age: 13|  Weight: 10-11| J: R Patrick(5)| T: Kerry Lee| OR:  84| D
16/1
Now a teenager and failed to get a serious blow in during four starts last season, two of them in Bangor handicap chases over this sort of trip. Needs to bounce back.
7
Horse silk
Eastern Lady14
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-11| J: Benjamin Poste| T: R J Price| OR:  84
10/1
Still a maiden after 15 starts (eight Flat, six hurdles) and has her work cut out here based on tailed off effort in Warwick novice chase a fortnight ago (sent off 100/1).
8

Way Of The World21
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-11| J: James Bowen(3)| T: Sheila Lewis| OR:  84
4/1
Sole success came on heavy ground in a handicap hurdle at Hereford in February last year. Some promise to work on having finished around 15L down on Fact Flow in Uttoxeter chase bow this month over further.
9
Horse silk
Kahdian31
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-2| J: David Noonan| T: Mrs H E Rees| OR:  75
16/1
Maiden after 28 starts, so confidence immediately tempered by that stat, though has suggested in two Taunton chase starts lately that he might find success in this discipline. Goes handicapping from fair mark.
10
Horse silk
Moontripper32
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-0| J: Brendan Powell| T: P C Dando| OR:  66
25/1
Falling quickly in the handicap after a series of very moderate efforts and will need to improve here to play a role. Not getting any favours on these terms.

Forecasts

Fact Flow (3/1), Way Of The World (4/1), Ronnie Lawson (9/2), Native Gamut (11/2), Jeu De Mots (6/1), Eastern Lady (10/1), Mr Bachster (16/1), Kahdian (16/1), Spock (25/1), Moontripper (25/1)

Verdict

Fact Flow landed the odds at a massive price last time at Uttoxeter with a much-improved effort and will be hard to hold if building on that now. RONNIE LAWSON showed enough in two runs either side of New Year to suggest he can belatedly register his first success as a chaser and he should go close for the champion jockey off a break. Native Gamut and Jeu De Mots may improve now handicapping but Kahdian has shown a bit of promise since going chasing and ranks ahead of them for now.

  3. Kahdian
