Smart sprinter (Group 3 and Listed winner) who enjoyed the ease in grade to score in his belated handicap debut last time out (made all). Defied a mark of 109 there and now faces a tougher test at the weights back in Listed company.

From a yard who have made an excellent start to the season his latest win came at Meydan in January over 7f (handicap off 110). Has always looked a smart performer although his two subsequent starts were disappointing; trip may prove a little sharp.

Has been a smart performer in the past and still looked to be a capable one when winning a small-field minor event on the AW last time. He rarely runs a bad race though and should still be able to give his running in this.

Course winner who wears a tongue-tie for the first time but looks to be the lesser of his trainer's two runners in this. Should be capable at this level but ran poorly last time out in this grade after a 7 months off; tough task at the weights.

Looks to be the better of his stables two hopes being a C&D winner and despite not having won since 2015 he's still not fully exposed. Shaped with a great deal of promise in a Newmarket Group 3 back from a break; will make his presence felt.

A previous winner of this contest he was a little below his best when last seen at Ascot in the dying embers of the 2017 season. Well-in at the weights here and his former win in this came after a 219-day break; leading chance.

A three-time C&D winner with one of those wins coming in this in 2015. Dual winner at Chelmsford already this year over 5/6f but disappointed last time out still on the AW. Steps up out of handicaps and faces a stiff task at the weights.

Verdict

The feature on the card this 6f event has attracted a good field of sprinters with THE TIN MAN taken to follow-up his 2016 success in this contest. He’s been on the track for a while but goes well fresh and looks to have an excellent chance at the weight. Projection is one of two that trainer Roger Charlton runs in the race and with his reappearance hinting at better to come this year he’s the main danger. Gifted Master appreciated the drop back into a handicap last time and steps back up in grade here and should still be competitive with D’Bai and Lancelot Du Lac not totally out of this either.
