Gelded son of Harbour Watch cost €9,000 as a yearling. Green and lost ground at start on debut at Pontefract last month before keeping on into sixth inside final furlong. Better for experience but more needed here.
£15,000 colt by Kuroshios, an Australian sprinter of four seasons ago. Showed promise on debut at Pontefract last month in finishing fourth then improved to go close when runner-up at Beverley a fortnight ago. Strong claims.
Clodovil colt relayed to three winners. Yard has made a fine start this with its juveniles with near-30% winning stirkes rate so is respected and market should indicate how much is expected of him on debut.
Cheaply bought £3000 Monsieur Bond colt out of a maiden who stayed middle distances. Doesn't make great appeal on pedigree despite yard having been in good form of late.
By Gale Force Ten out of unraced dam who is closely related to some classy performers at around a mile. Two starts so far, showed nothing on Ripon debut and never dangerous in seller last time wearing first-time blinkers.
€11,500 son of Intikhab makes his racecourse debut here. Yard having a quiet time at the moment so it would be a susprise if he is ready to make a winning start.
Zebedee colt cost €16,000 at auction. Dam won French 1m maiden. Ran green early but stayed on well on debut to finish third at Beverley two weeks ago. Looks sure to go well on that evidence.
7000 guineas Dream Ahead filly whose dam won over 1m as a juvenile. Champion jockey rides and yard's juveniles are often ready first time out so deserves plenty of respect.
Power filly, half-sister to six winners but cost just £3,000 as a yearling. Yard has been in fine form with 8-24 strike rate over the last few weeks so a bold show on debut certainly not out of the question.
£10,000 Mayson filly who has shown only moderate form in two similar events at Beverley so far. Yard having a quiet time so probably one for nurseries in due course.
Daughter of Sir Prancealot making her racecourse debut here. Maiden dam has alreday produced three indivdual winners. Yard had a winner lately but on balance others make more appeal.
Forecasts
Big Ace (2/1), Certain Lad (11/4), Zebzardee (4/1), Aisling (11/2), Firewater (14/1), My Ukulele (20/1), Abie's Hollow (28/1), Smashing Lass (50/1), Hurricane Five (50/1), Singe Du Nord (66/1), No Ransom (100/1)
ZEBZARDEE is narrowly preferred to Big Ace in this juvenile event having made a promising debut at Beverley in staying on strongly through the final furlong to finish third. Big Ace went close last time and is clearly going the right way so is expected to pose a proper threat. Newcomers Certain Lad, Aisling and My Ukelele are all of interest for yards going well at present, while Abie's Hollow is not completely out of it either.
- Zebzardee
- Big Ace
