Listed winner on the AW in 2016, only made four starts all told, fair effort over 7f at Dundalk last month after 359 days off (second). Cheekpieces added and presence of James Doyle (2-4 at Naas) a big plus.

AW maiden winner on debut for John Gosden in 2016, run credible races in three further starts for that yard, going close in decent Haydock handicap (7f, good to firm) off 90 this time last year. Entitled to improve from recent stable bow.

Lightly-raced maiden, well beaten over 5f at Tipperary last week, comes back up in trip now but has all manner of improvement to find in order to land a blow here.

Hardly the most frequent of winners and previous attempts at Group races have seen her well beaten off; very tough to build a case for in this field.

Career-best when winning seven-runner Listed race at Dundalk (7f, AW) by ½L from Battle of Jericho in October. Should be more to come this term, respected off the break.

Really promising when winning first two starts last year, not exactly fulfilled in pattern-race company thereafter, but still looks very useful. Close third in 7f Listed race here on recent reappearance. Likely player again.

Winner of a 6f good-ground maiden at Fairyhouse on debut last June but struggled at pattern level subsequently. Similar tale in both starts this term, drops back in trip now with a bit to work on but not totally ruled out.

Forecasts

Brother Bear (5/2), Riyazan (7/2), Chessman (4/1), Ambassadorial (9/2), Sometimesadiamond (7/1), Jewel Maker (7/1), Summer Icon (8/1), Texas Rock (20/1), Malibu Magic (100/1)

Verdict

Riyazan landed a Listed AW contest on his fourth and final start at two, he's likely to have more to offer this term and rates a player on his return. His stablemate AMBASSADORIAL gets the nod to make a winning turf debut today. He's looked smart on the AW and in-form James Doyle has come over to ride, it shouldn't be a wasted journey for him. Brother Bear hasn't fulfilled the early potential of last year but remains a very useful performer and should get involved while Jewel Maker is an improving sort for the Weld team.
