Back down in trip now after a foray over 2m2f at Chester when not given the ideal ride/trip and better judged on his previous form. Showed that he still retained ability in his previous two stable runs although hasn't won for a while.
Despite a slight drop in the weights he looks averagely weighted and ran poorly last time out after showing up well on his first run after being gelded. First run on turf for this stable but more needed to take a hand here.
Ran a promising race at Chester last time out when shaping better than his finishing position (6th). That run will have brought him on further but he's never won off a mark this high which tempers enthusiasm although he could still go well.
Attracted support on his first run this year at Thirsk but raced a little too freely to do himself justice. Came on for that run when winning over 1m5f here last time looking like a horse well ahead of his mark; 6lb higher here but still in the mix.
Back on turf last time after a couple of AW runs he came back to his best (seen to good effect from his track position). Given the advantages he was handed that day (just held on) he may find this a little harder; gets on well with this rider.
Blighted his last two starts by being slowly away and that left him poorly placed when beaten behind Star Of The East last time. This looks the ideal trip ideal for him and his mark is workable if he can get on terms in the early stages.
Behind a couple of today's rivals at Chester last time out but he does look to be gradually working his way back to form this year. Shown some good form around here in the past but is on a good mark if he does find his form.
Takes on three rivals again from her seasonal debut over 1m5f here when she shaped better than the bare result (never got going until late; finished with running left). C&D winner who isn't badly treated and can get involved again.
First run for a new yard after running in the Middle East over the winter having previously taken a Windsor handicap in August. Visor worn last time is now removed but on the evidence so far he has work to do here.
Showed that he was back to form when producing a career-best at Musselburgh (1m4f, good) despite being easy to back. This represents a significant rise in grade off a 5lb higher mark and looks to have a difficult task.

More competitive fare and the key race may well be a handicap over 1m5f here where four of today’s runners faced each other. Bolder Bob took that contest and he’s still well weighted today despite the 6lb penalty and looks sure to run well again. However, DONNACHIES GIRL didn’t get much luck in-running that day and she’s taken to reverse that form with a clear run this time. The two Mark Johnston runners Star Of The East and Rainbow Rebel are closely matched on their Chester running and the latter could get the better of the argument this time around. Corton Lad is on a good mark if he finds his form again around a course he likes while Dance King has a chance on his Chester run of last week
- Donnachies Girl
- Bolder Bob
- Dance King
