Horse A-Z
Bred to be speedy and offered something to work on being better than he was able to show on his Musselburgh debut (split Deep Intrigue and Moojim; run in previous race). Squeezed out late on and experience will count here.

First foal; dam winner at up to 7f (including as a juvenile) and a half-sister to three 5f winners. Yard up and running in this department this season and have been known to have a winning juvenile first time up.

Strong in the betting on both starts (favourite both times) he fared no better on his second start than he had on his AW (Fibresand) debut. Easily brushed aside last time finishing last of four and needs to improve from a poor draw.

Judging by his SP (16/1) he wasn't that fancied on his debut at Newmarket and his lack of experience showed (held up; never involved). Nicely drawn here though and not hard to see him taking a step forward for a yard who are excellent in this sphere.

Failed to justify his hefty price tag (€160,000 as a yearling) and prominent position in the betting when beaten 11L on debut at Doncaster (winner; No Lippy won again since). Gave the impression he should improve for the experience; better expected.

82,000 guineas Breeze Up purchase he's a half-brother to 6f winner Edged In Blue from a yard that do quite well here. Up and running with their juveniles this year and this one has the plum draw for his debut.
Pedigree and price tag (€80,000 yearling) didn't quite match where she made her debut (Brighton) and she ran only to a modest level despite looking as though she knew her job. Could well improve but more needed to win take this.

First foal; dam 5f two-year-old winner. Yard yet to get off the mark in the juvenile sphere this year though.

Hood on and a slightly awkward draw don't bode that well for her debut with the yard 0/9 in the past five years with juveniles. Dam was a 6f winner (half-sister to the useful winner at up to 7f Charles Molson).

Forecasts

Ahlan Bil Emarati (6/4), Pesci (3/1), Triple One (7/2), Steely Spirit (8/1), Al Manhalah (12/1), Grayboy (20/1), Pearl Of Qatar (25/1), Majestic Appeal (25/1), Thornton Katie (100/1)

Verdict

There are more experienced runners in this second division of the novice stakes and that may make it a little more competitive. Of the group that have run Ahlan Bil Emerati looks to have the best form in the book his third at Musselburgh showing him capable of winning at this level. Steely Spirit and Pesci are two other that look as though they will do better in time along with Al Manhalah. TRIPLE ONE is an interesting and well-drawn newcomer though from a yard that do well here and are already off and running with their juveniles.
  1. Triple One
  2. Ahlan Bil Emarati
  3. Steely Spirit
