26,000 gns yearling by Tagula out of Trebles, ran a fair race on debut at Kempton in April 2017 when beaten 7½L into sixth, not seen since and has changed hands. More will be needed in this more competitive heat.

Makes her debut here and is by a dam who ran once in a bumper but is closely related to winners over staying trips. Looks to be bred for distance. Others preferred.

Bated Breath colt, sent off 50/1 and cut little ice in 1m maiden at Newbury last month on debut, goes out in trip here but watching brief required for now.

Foal by Champs Elysees out of the Listed placed juvenile winner Desert Image, went with plenty promise in two 1m AW starts at Kempton last year, could have more to come now returned on turf.

Son of Most Improved purchased for £90,000 as a yearling, shaped well in AW contest at Kempton over a mile in the autumn and worth paying attention to in betting here.

Only modest in two starts last month on the AW tracks at Wolverhampton and Lingfield, latterly when stepped up to this 1m2f trip. May be one for longer term.

Le Maharajah21
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-13| J: M Harley| T: Tom Clover
13/2
By Cacique out of dam who is half-sister to a French 2000 Guineas winner. Cost 36,000 euros as a yearling. 25/1 chance and travelled nice before fading late on in C&D debut last month. Better to come.

Makes some appeal on paper and shaped well enough on debut at Beverley (1m½f, good) last month, might have more to offer going up in trip.

100/1
Gelded Son of Cityscape and a half-brother to a number of winners over shorter trips. Big prices both starts, including C&D maiden last time, and beaten just one rival home to date. Bypassed here.

A €58,000 half-brother to three winners, including smart 1m+ winner Blond Me, interesting newcomer and worth market check.

Mawatheeq filly is a half-sister to 1m4f winner Want The Fairytale, respected on debut for this trainer and could be ready to roll.

Nayef filly is hard to fancy on debut outing, she sports a tongue-strap and is potentially best watched unless support arrives.

Horse silk
50/1
Lawman filly, sent off 80/1 and never any threat in Nottingham maiden (1m½f, soft) backend of last season, joined Gary Moore since and must improve over this longer trip to play a role.

Daughter of Reliable Man cost €49,000 as a yearling, made inauspicious debut on the AW at Kempton (1m) in August now switches to turf on return to action.

40/1
Rip Van Winkle filly out of a dam who was effective from 1m4f-2m, sent off 100/1 on debut over 7f at Kempton on AW in October and finished last. Trip more suitable on return, though plenty to work on.

Napoleonica
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-8| J: S W Kelly| T: R Hughes
25/1
Dalakhani filly is a half-sister to several winners, including useful 1m1½f winner Queen of Naples. Makes debut for Richard Hughes and interesting if any support behind her.

Forecasts

Nautical Mile (7/2), Desert Path (4/1), Doctor Jazz (4/1), Le Maharajah (13/2), White Turf (8/1), Buckland Boy (10/1), Arabian Fairytale (14/1), Napoleonica (25/1), Ava The Braver (33/1), Illustrious Spirit (33/1), Dependable (40/1), Dreamdancer (40/1), Billie Flynn (50/1), Small Mercy (80/1), Ragtag Rascal (100/1), Townie Mac (100/1)

Verdict

Le Maharajah shaped much better than the bare result last month on debut over C&D, travelling really well before fading. There should be plenty garnered from that experience. Similarly, NAUTICAL MILE was a bit green on debut at Beverley and should wiser now, that was still a decent effort and he might grab this prize. Plenty of these are difficult to be confident about, but Desert Path shaped well in two AW runs last year while newcomers Napoleonica and Arabian Fairytale are worth some attention.
  1. Nautical Mile
  2. Le Maharajah
  3. Desert Path
