Off the track since beating an ordinary bunch almost two years ago. It's a positive that the yard have kept him on, but he faces a stiff task here on these terms.

Fulfilled debut promise when slamming his rivals next time. Could be useful and looks the type to make up into a decent three-year-old

Has an AW pedigree and duly obliged at Kempton on debut when well-supported. More to do here but yard are having an excellent campaign with this age group.

Made all to score over 6f here and despite looking green. This is much tougher but he is clearly progressing.

Exceed and Excel colt who fetched 48,000 gns as a yearling and is a close relation of middle distance winner Big Ego. No show on Wolverhampton debut and this looks even harder.

130,000 gns yearling by Dutch Art out of a speedy Group 3 winning dam. Looks interesting on paper but in a tough heat on debut.

Much improved run on second start but needs to have found an awful lot more during the winter to have any chance.

Has shown nothing in either run and this looks an above average contest. Will qualify for handicaps after this and will be of more interest then.

50/1
Gelded son of Showcasing who fetched 115,000 gns as a yearling and is a half-brother to three winners over 6f and 7f. Soundly beaten on both starts and has too much to find to merit consideration.

Well beaten on Yarmouth debut last autumn and in a much tougher heat on return. Impossible to consider on tangible form.

Not totally unfancied on either start but has failed to show enough to warrant consideration. Apprentice ridden now and blinkers fitted.

Forecasts

Mr Marrakech (1/1), Glendevon (5/2), Tadbir (7/2), Arbalet (9/2), Golden Slam (20/1), Fard (20/1), Smart Dart (25/1), Pheidippides (33/1), Saphil (50/1), Timssaah (50/1), Excelabit (66/1), Fata Morgana (150/1)

Verdict

Arbalet sets the bar high on his Group 3 third as a juvenile, but GLENDEVON is held in high esteem and it would be no surprise to see him emerge as a top-class horse given his size and scope. Tadbir showed plenty of sped to score here last time, but he is up in trip and taking on much tougher opponents. The same applies to Golden Slam who has been off for almost two years and Pheidippides who was much improved last time.
  1. Glendevon
  2. Arbalet
  3. Tadbir
