Not seen on turf since winning a Nottingham maiden on her last run as a juvenile (made most; used experience). Has run well enough on the AW of late although does often find one too good and was below-par last time.
Trainer does well with his sprinters and there might be more to come from this one now that he's been gelded and goes handicapping. Trainer has a decent record with his handicap debutantes and this one is worth watching in the market.
A winner on her nursery debut when making all at Lingfield on the turf over 5f she looks all speed. Form rather tailed off after that win (highly tried once) although she took a step in the right direction last time; hard to be confident about her.
Yet to win a race and has proved rather hard to settle. If he would he's the type to win a race like this and there looks to be a better performance in him. Rather surprising that he's not been tried in a hood.
Got off the mark as a juvenile in a weak Bath maiden on firm ground and appears to run her best races at the West Country track on quick ground. Her mark looks workable if she can overcome the absence with a very capable apprentice on board.
Seen to maximum effect when winning her final race as a juvenile when with Brendan Powell on the AW over 5f. Looked to be working her way back when last seen (not knocked about); first run for new yard with a hood going on.
Has looked a different horses this year now gelded and moved into handicaps and although starting from a low base has already won two on the AW. Formed a good partnership with today's rider; career high mark to overcome.
Off the mark at the 5th attempt as a juvenile switched to handicaps but has failed to build on that run. Looks very well handicapped now on the basis of his win (8lb below that mark) but hard to trust him in his current form.
Forecasts
Kodiac Express (4/1), Bobby's Charm (4/1), Dreamboat Annie (4/1), Spring Romance (9/2), Haveoneyerself (6/1), Spanish Star (17/2), Firenze Rosa (17/2), Jonnysimpson (14/1)
An intriguing little contest to end the card and the chances are that BOBBY’S CHARM is a lot better than he’s shown so far given his purchase price at the Breeze-Ups and the fact that handicaps were always going to see him in a better light. Spring Romance is another huge improver this year who still looks as though he has more to come despite a career-high mark here. Jonnysimpson is now with a new yard but had shown signs of coming back to her best last time while Dreamboat Annie is another who should feature in this with her mark looking attractive with the good young apprentice Jason Watson taking the ride.
- Bobby's Charm
- Spring Romance
- Dreamboat Annie
