Previous C&D winner who hasn't won since 2016. Ran well in a Listed event at Dundalk when last seen nearly seven months ago and has a chance off this mark back down to a mile.
Only had four starts so far and was well beaten over C&D on heavy ground on his return to action 43 days ago. Needs to improve on that.
Experienced campaigner who is still 3lbs higher than when winning at the Galway Festival back in August. Starts life for a new yard today.
Had a terrific end to 2017 picking up a couple of handicaps at Dundalk on the AW. Well on top latest and every chance progress can be continued this term. Returns from a five month break.
Would need to be cherry ripe off this sort of mark on first start for nearly nine months off the track to take a hand today.
Lightly raced four-year-old. Ran well on first start for 12 months when third at Leopardstown (7f, heavy) last month. Type to do better and market confidence would be significant for last years winning trainer/jockey combo.
'Won her second and third career starts at the beginning of last season but became a little inconsistent throughout the rest of the campaign. Ran well for a long way on reappearance and likely to come on for that.
Rattled off a hat-trick for John Patrick Shanahan last summer. Much higher in the weights now but not discounted on only her second start for this yard.
Never involved when finishing down the field on his seasonal reappearance over 1m here in March. Didn't stay the ten furlongs here latest and immediately drops back to mile. Needs to find more but is sliding down the weights.
Bolted up off off 8lb lower mark at Navan (1m, heavy) two starts back. Couldn't follow up over a longer trip next time and is immediately dropped back in distance here.
Already had a busy start to 2018 with four quick runs and running well each time without winning. Every chance of another bold showing today.
Went very close when well backed on return at Clonmel. Travelled strongly that day. Drop back in trip and cheekpieces going on are positives as is the riders 10lb claim. Could be quirky but has a big chance.
Fairly useful on his day but hasn't produced his best for a while. On a nice mark though and a return to form would be no surprise.
Forecasts
Lucky Mistake (4/1), Tony The Gent (5/1), Warnaq (6/1), Zorion (7/1), Aussie Valentine (10/1), Marshall Jennings (12/1), Katiymann (12/1), Bumbasina (12/1), Hit The Silk (12/1), Turbine (14/1), Sevenleft (16/1), Set In Stone (20/1), Dream Walker (33/1)
Katiymann was in terrific form on the AW when last seen and the progress could continue this term. Zorion is lightly raced and looks to be on a decent mark and any market confidence behind him would be significant for last years winning yard.. Preference is for LUCKY MISTAKE who is turned out quickly having just failed at Clonmel last week. The drop in trip and addition on cheekpieces can see her gain some compensation.
- Lucky Mistake
- Zorion
- Katiymann
