Plenty of promise in four runs last season, including in handicap company off a 1lb higher mark at Newmarket on her final start. Interesting to see how she has progressed following her winter break.
Showed a fair level of ability on both starts as a juvenile and on reappearance at Kempton, where she pulled much too hard. First run in a handicap and has solid claims if that latest outing has taken the freshness out of her.
Trained by David Evans last season when she got her head in front at Goodwood. Below-par when last seen at Southwell in January and needs better on first run for this yard.
Won a novice event on the AW at Newcastle in November and was an encouraging second of 10 on her seasonal reappearance and handicap debut at Lingfield recently. One for the short list with improvement expected.
Off the mark at the fifth attempt when winning a Lingfield nursery in December. Returning from a break and racing off 6lb higher, but is clearly entitled to respect.
Showed ability on more than once occasion as a juvenile, but did not perform to the same level on seasonal return in a Wolverhampton handicap last month. Has been dropped 2lb, but has something to prove.
In good form at the back end of her two-year-old campaign and ran as though the outing was needed on her reappearance run at Pontefract. Should be sharper this time and underfoot conditions will suit.
Still looking for her first win after 10 races, but she is not without ability and handicap mark is dropping. May prefer a sounder surface.
Forecasts
Gilded Hour (11/8), Milan Reef (5/1), Great Shot Sam (5/1), Goodnight Girl (5/1), Polly's Gold (10/1), Fire Orchid (12/1), Pastamakesufaster (20/1), Isabella Mayson (25/1)
Gilded Hour pulled much too hard on her return to action at Kempton and will need to be more amenable to restraint this time. She is respected, along with top-weight Goodnight Girl, but the vote goes to MILAN REEF, who showed she could handle a soft surface as a juvenile and may be the best suited to prevailing conditions. Great Shot Sam has solid claims after an encouraging reappearance run, while Fire Orchid is another to consider on her first outing of the year.
- Milan Reef
- Great Shot Sam
- Gilded Hour
