Reeled off a hat-trick of wins at the back end of 2015, but was off the track for over two years before finishing a tailed-off last of eight at this track on Monday. Impossible to fancy after that display.
Talented performer early in his career, but has a losing record on the Flat which stretches way back to 2012. Best effort for some time when second of five over 1m6f at this track last month, but takes quite a drop in distance.
C&D winner who was some way behind Go On Gal on his last outing at this venue last month. Has a 6lb pull for a beating of over 10L and that may not be enough for him to turn the tables.
Had Lean On Pete behind when winning over 1m4f at this track last month. Should be able to confirm the form on 6lb worse terms, but a rise of 3lb leaves her slightly vulnerable should one of her rivals spring from the pack.
Only two wins in 25 starts have come at this venue. They were over 1m and 7f, however, and there is no evidence to suggest this longer trip is what he needs.
One run last year when down the field at Redcar and is returning from another lengthy spell on the sidelines. Difficult to fancy and connections fit a visor for the first time.
Irish challenger who is 0-12 and has been placed only once on the AW at Dundalk. Tries her luck over the longest distance she has tackled and needs to improve for it in first-time cheekpieces.
Fair effort to be third over C&D in December, but was tailed off on his return to this track the following month. Down 3lb, but is 6lb out of the handicap and needs to bounce back to form.
C&D winner who has won 15 races on the AW, but looks a light of former days. He is 6lb wrong at the weights which gives him a mountain to climb.
Forecasts
Surewhynot (2/1), Go On Gal (5/2), Lean On Pete (9/2), Luath (11/2), Slowfoot (12/1), Slipper Satin (25/1), Master Of Song (33/1), General Tufto (33/1), Belrog (66/1)
Most of these are vulnerable for one reason of another and it only by process of elimination that GO ON GAL gets the nod. She should confirm course form with Lean On Pete despite a rise in the weights and looks much the safest option in a race which may not take much winning. Irish challenger Surewhynot has possibilities over a longer trip and in cheekpieces, while Luath likes this surface but has stamina to prove.
