Unplaced in all three starts last season but improved significantly on her reappearance when hitting the line strongly over 7f. Extra trip will help and only up 2lb due to narrow winning margin.

Well beaten in three starts before being sent off favourite on first run back following wind surgery. Got going too late there but enough promise to suggest first time blinkers headgear may help.

Unplaced in five starts last season and has dropped 5lb since initial handicap mark, however needs to find improvement on reappearance.

Unseated her rider twice on the way to post before finally making her debut and was subsequently well beaten at long odds in all three starts last season. Hard to fancy on handicap debut.

Only second run on turf and fit from AW campaign. Has run to a similar level of form in all four starts in handicap company that would put her right in the mix here but needs to show she truly needs a mile.

Handicap debut last November would give him possibilities but has been largely disappointing since including when well beaten on return to turf last time. Best watched at present.

Forecasts

Choral Music (9/4), Olive Mabel (7/2), Ahfad (4/1), Spring Praise (5/1), Grasmere (7/1), Miss Mollie (12/1), Sandkissed (14/1), Aldbury Lass (14/1), Hidden Dream (20/1)

Verdict

There's not an awful lot of depth here so three horses stand out on known form. Olive Mabel has done enough to be competitive but a question mark remains at this far. Spring Praise was clearly fancied to fare better following his wind operation but seemed to wake up too late and it's possible that the addition of blinkers could be the key. However CHORAL MUSIC looks a solid proposition at this level after looking a different horse on seasonal and handicap debut. The style of her win suggests she's ahead of the handicapper at this extra distance.
  1. Choral Music
  2. Spring Praise
  3. Olive Mabel
