Won the Silver Trophy over C&D in August when 13lb lower and, after a break, followed up at York. Beaten 4L from this mark on final start of last season. Acts on the forecast ground but this looks a tough assignment.
Ran well in defeat over C&D in the Great St Wilfred in August and gained compensation back here next time (soft) when 7lb lower. 4lb better off with Terentum Star for 2L defeat by him at York but may need this run.
Won this in 2015. Scored over C&D (good to soft) last season from 2lb lower and followed up from 1lb higher at Doncaster. Matched the latter effort in defeat back here later in the campaign. Should be better for a recent AW spin and is considered.
Usually runs well here and has two C&D wins (inc. on soft) to his name. Without success since a Listed York win in 2016 but is 5lb better off with Flying Pursuit for a ½L defeat to him here in September and has won here when fresh.
Won first time out at York last season (6f, soft) when 2lb lower. Is 14lb better off with Flying Pursuit for 2L at York in July and ran well from 1lb higher twice last year, giving him claims.
Both his win have been over 6f (inc. on good to soft), the more recent from 1lb lower on his seasonal reappearance in 2017. Has not come close to repeating that since, including on his recent comeback outing but not ruled out from this mark.
Stays 7f and won over both that trip and this last season. Could certainly give him a squeak on that form and on his Thirsk second in September. Acts with cut in the ground and stable has readied on to win first time out recently.
Goes particularly well on genuinely testing ground, so any further rain before the 'off' would be a bonus. Scored at Windsor (6f, heavy) last time by a neck. 3lb rise is fair and entitled to enter calculations.
Beaten just a neck over C&D by Terentum Star in the Silver Trophy last year and is now 10lb better off with him but while he may reverse those placings he has not won since 2015. Can go well fresh but probably has an each-way squeak from this mark.
Sole turf win was on good to firm at Hamilton (6f) last May and all of his best form has been on good or fast ground. Has been on decent nick on Southwell's Fibresand but that didn't cut much ice at Pontefract on Monday. Others preferred.
Bagged his first win in four years at Goodwood (7f, soft) in August, when 1lb lower. Held from higher marks since and has yet to win when fresh (though has run well). Stable among the winners, so market check would be prudent.
Sees out 7f and has won over Pontefract's stiffer 6f, so should be doing his best work at the business end. Has also won on good to soft ground and handles it softer. Has twice won when fresh and is short-listed from this competitive mark.
Won on debut in 2016 and went close over C&D on his reappearance last year, both positives. Was well held when upped to this mark for his final two starts last year, so needs to improve on that and best form is on a sound/fast surface.

Another interesting sprint handicap at this venue can go for a second time to PIPERS NOTE, who won it in 2015 when trained by Richard Whitaker, should be spot on after an All Weather run and handles the forecast ground. Al Qahwa has the look of a potential danger, along with the mudlark Mobsta and course-lover Nameitwhatyoulike. Classic Seniority, Truth Or Dare and Gin In The Inn all merit respect in a tough race to pin down.
