Has made a good start to his career, following up a narrow Kempton defeat with a similarly narrow victory on his turf debut at Bath (5f, good) last week. Carries a penalty for that but enters calculations with that experience a plus.

Cost £22,000 at the breeze-ups. Half-brother to a several winners, three of them as two-year-olds, notably Lucky Numbers (5f-6f). Nice pedigree and stable had a recent winner, so may be capable of a decent debut.
15,500 gns foal, who cost £26,000 as a yearling. Dam a 1m AW winner as a juvenile. Pedigree suggests that 1m+ will suit and unless there is significant support for him pre-race then he is probably one to watch today.
20,000 gns yearling. First foal of a Listed-placed 5f two-year-old winning full-sister to two other sprint winners. Stable has already had its first juvenile turf winner this term and it would be no surprise to see this colt go well.
33-1 ahead of what turned out to be a very promising debut in the Brocklesby Conditions Stakes at Doncaster (5f, soft) last month, when beaten just ¾L. With that experience under his belt he should be a leading player in this.

£11,000 yearling. First foal of an unraced 1m winner with a pedigree loaded toward middle distances. Stable's first juvenile runner of the season and he can get them ready to win on debut, so a market check is suggested.

€6,000 foal who cost £11,000 as a yearling. Half-brother to two 5f winners at two. Dam an unraced half-sister to 6f juvenile winner/French 1,000 Guineas third Rahiyah. Stable 1-4 so far with its two-year-olds, so could make a nice debut.

12,000 gns yearling. Half-brother to 6f AW winner Fleeting Glimpse out of 6f-7f winner, inc. at two. Appears to be stable's pick on jockey bookings so if worth a market check.

€6,000 foal who cost €15,000 as a yearling. First foal. Dam unplaced at 6f and full-sister to three winners up to 1m, as well as half-sister to a 5f-7f winner. Top stable has had 5 placed from 10 juvenile runners this term but no winner yet.

Forecasts

Kinks (2/1), Broken Spear (2/1), Look Out Louis (9/2), Axel Jacklin (10/1), Good Tyne Girl (11/1), Gifted Zebedee (16/1), Blazing Dreams (25/1), Hurricane Five (33/1), Juniors Fantasy (40/1)

Verdict

An interesting opener where, with such minimal experience among the runners, those who have tasted some action are probably one step ahead and BROKEN SPEAR, who belied his big odds on debut last month, might be the one for today. Kinks has to be much respected, with Axel Jacklin, Hurricane Five and Good Tyne Girl newcomers who make some appeal and should be checked in the market.
  1. Broken Spear
  2. Kinks
  3. Axel Jacklin
