Had some useful form as a juvenile and looked a potentially smart sprinter. Only seen twice as a three-year-old but again the promise was there. No surprise were there more to come despite giving weight away all-round here.
Hasn't won since taking a maiden at Brighton back in 2015. Struggled on his reappearance run at Musselburgh and has since switched yards. Best watched.
Winner last season but lost his way in a competitive handicaps at the end of last year but his return effort at Bath was much more encouraging.
Handles cut in the ground and scored from a 3lb higher mark in a Newcastle handicap (5f, AW) in January. This is altogether tougher and recent run at Musselburgh was poor.
Doesn't win all that often but only 2lbs higher than when winning at Naas in September. Unlike some, conditions are no problem and it wouldn't be a huge surpise should he go well.
FInshed last season with back-to-back wins and hard for the handicapper to be too harsh given the nature of those wins. Just 2lbs higher than the last of those and ground no issue. Could go well.
Finished off last season with a decent effort at Nottingham (5f, good to soft). Nudged back up 1lb for that and is still 2lb higher than for last win. May go well but opposable for win purposes.
Had a wonderful time of things over the winter and has been a model of consistency. Found this new mark all too much at Ripon last week and needs to bounce back. Handicapper may finally have him in his grip.
Had a disappointing end to 2017 but has slipped to a very dangerous mark as a result. Hold up style could well suit in this big field and would be danger to all if ready to go after six months off.
Won five of last six starts and has climbed over two stone in the weights as a result. Back from a six month break but a danger to all if fit and ready to go off just 5lb higher than last success.
Had fallen a long way in the weights before winning four times last summer. May continue progress again this year and not easy to put a line through despite eight month break.
Bit of an in-and-out performer who's last win came off 6lb higher. Trickling down to a tempting mark once again but another one coming back from a long absence.
Lightly raced five-year-old. A case can be made that he is on a nice mark on one or two pieces of form. Especially his penultimate run at Sandown. Yard are very good at getting one ready on the back of a break and no surprise if he runs well.
Front-runner who won back-to-back handicaps at Newcastle off 67 & 71. Struggled with the rise in the weights and maybe the surface at Southwell (Fibresand) latest. Could bounce back for yard that won this race last year.
Dropping back to a workable mark and will appreciate returning to a different surface after racing at Southwell on his last four starts. Up in grade and all three wins have come at a lesser level.
Best efforts tend to come when able to dictate the pace. Likely to be competition for the lead today so opposable.

Forecasts
Major Pusey (7/2), Taexali (13/2), Ebitda (8/1), Thammin (8/1), Casterbridge (10/1), Suwaan (11/1), Sheepscar Lad (12/1), Signore Piccolo (12/1), Tylery Wonder (14/1), Lucky Beggar (16/1), The Armed Man (16/1), Memories Galore (16/1), Oh So Sassy (20/1), African Friend (25/1), Siege Of Boston (25/1), Royal Brave (25/1), Something Lucky (33/1)
African Friend could go well at a big price on the back of a break and he may prove to be on a decent mark. Ebitda had a terrific season in 2017 and could continue his progress. Thammin is also feared and is added to the shortlist. That list is headed by SHEEPSCAR LAD. He progressed really nicely last season and the manor of his victories have made it hard for the handicapper to be too hard on him. He can make light of the 2lb rise in the weights and win again.
- Sheepscar Lad
- African Friend
- Thammin
