Still yet to win a race despite some creditable efforts and he's now being given a chance by the handicapper off this mark. This trip appeared to suit him last time although he did take an age to pick up; draw makes life awkward.

Twice a winner over a mile last year her two runs this year have been well below -par. Her efforts over this trip before have been disappointing and despite an inside berth she's passed over.

Spoilt his chance last time out by racing very freely and will need to settle better here if he's to have a chance. Untried over this trip and given how he races may struggle to stay this far and others are preferred.

Had a good season last year winning on three occasions but ended the season on a down note at Pontefract. Returns after a break stepped up in trip and may well need this first outing for a while.

Only had a couple of starts for this yard and has run with credit on both of them but the fact remains she's still a maiden. She's down to a good mark though and it might not be long before she starts to show more off this sort of mark.

Took a handicap at Newcastle on her penultimate start beating a small field before failing to build on that win last time. Take out that run and she's fairly consistent and could bounce back in this.

Took advantage of a drop in the weights when winning at Hamilton in September looking back to the pick of her three-year-old form. Wasn't quite in the same form next time over a longer trip but still features off a very workable mark.

Scored back-to-back wins in handicaps last year but rather looks to have lost her way given the evidence of her two latest starts. Has been given a break since then and has run well off breaks before and the yard are in good form.

Finished the Flat season last time around with a solid effort when runner-up at Redcar but has shown very little over hurdles during the winter. The jockey booking takes the eye and he'll be worth watching in the market from an in form yard.

0/17 is his career record and despite being well drawn here it's hard to make a case for him from 9lb out of the handicap.

Forecasts

Almunther (7/2), Beverley Bullet (5/1), Al Hawraa (5/1), Dose (11/2), Inflexiball (8/1), Bob Maxwell (8/1), Vigee Le Brun (9/1), Dream Free (11/1), Blue Vision (14/1), Natajack (25/1), Kilbaha Lady (33/1)

Verdict

None of these have a particularly solid profile and a chance is taken on ALMUNTHER with the booking of Silvestre De Sousa taking the eye on his return after an abortive couple of runs over hurdles but with his Flat form looking quite solid. Bob Maxwell is another who looks as though he could improve although he might be better with some headgear on having taken a while to pick-up last time. Vigee Le Brun is starting to look interesting off this sort of mark and she like Inflexiball can be given a chance with the latter of that duo benefitting from a return to turf after a break.
  1. Almunther
  2. Bob Maxwell
  3. Inflexiball
