Winner of a Listed event at Pontefract last season but failed to land any sort of blow out in Dubai and only ran okay at Doncaster when last seen. May need some relief from the handicapper.
Consistent sort running well throughout most of last seen. A bit of did in the ground looks in his favour here and he should come on for his reappearance at Chelmsford earlier in the month. Interesting runner now yard have turned the corner.
Running well on AW this winter, winning at Lingfield in February before a respectable effort at Kempton last time. Will need to improve off a career high mark back on turf though.
Off the mark at the third attempt of asking in a Lingfield maiden two starts back and only just touched off at Newmarket last time. Entitled to need this run and unproven in softer conditions but in no way dismissed.
Not won for over two years now but has run some big races in defeat, including when second of 10 at Newmarket in July. Each-way claims but may need relief from the handicapper before he's of interest for win purposes.
Progressive last year, rattling off a hat-trick before a respectable effort in the Cambridgeshire. Likes some dig in the ground, could be more to come this year and market can reveal whether he's ready to go on return.
Latest win came on the AW at Lingfield but he's effective on turf, as seen when winning at this course last year. Race fitness on his side and has each-way claims.
Arrives here in search of a belated hat-trick after winning his last two starts of 2017, first of which over C&D. Every chance he'll improve with age and could be on a very nice mark. Interesting runner. Wears first-time hood.
Won each of his first four starts and only just touched off at Ascot when last seen in August. Up another 1lb for that but should improve and yard won this last year with an improving four-year-old.
Finished 2L behind Ajman King here in a maiden off level-weights and gets a useful 10lb swing here. Went on to win at Lingfield when last seen in December and ought to improve from that. Should run well for a jockey with a fine win-rate here (25%).
Forecasts
Ajman King (9/4), Contango (9/2), Dash Of Spice (6/1), Dubai Horizon (6/1), Thundering Blue (7/1), Pacify (12/1), Anythingtoday (12/1), Contrast (16/1), Another Touch (20/1), Emenem (25/1)
DASH OF SPICE and Ajman King meet over course and distance for the second time here and it's the former who is taken to reverse the form with a useful swing in the weights here. Andrew Balding won this last year with a four-year-old and Contango gives him claims of winning back-to-back renewals given his unexposed profile.
- Dash Of Spice
- Ajman King
- Contango
