Makes his debut for a new yard having previously been with Dan Skelton showing his best form for that yard when winning at Bangor in October. Back from a break here but could go close if he's ready to go after the absence.
A record of 0/13 in point-to-points doesn't inspire confidence and he was pulled-up in that sphere at Higham last time. Best watched in this having also been pulled-up when last seen in a hunter chase.
Previously trained in France (won over hurdles) and ran a sound enough first race in this country at Ludlow last time in a hunter chase finishing a creditable 4th. Makes a fair amount of appeal based on that run.
First run for his new yard having won a 3m point-to-point by 20L at Frairs Haugh last time out (left clear at the last). Pulled-up on both his previous starts over fences under Rules but not ruled out of this.
Previously a winner over hurdles when trained by the now retired John Ferguson his form in point-to-points had been very poor. Finished well held in a Leicester hunter chase over 2m last time and makes limited appeal.
Didn't run that badly over hurdles on occasions and has produced some placed efforts in point-to-points. If he can repeat some of that form he would have a place chance here.
His form over hurdles under Rules has failed to inspire so far although he is 2/6 in point-to-points. He's been well beaten on his last two starts though and needs to improve to take a hand here.
One of the more interesting and likeable types in this with a 7/19 record in point-to-points and he's twice made the frame in this sphere. Made errors and was disappointing last time though and needs to jump better.
Makes his Rules here having won three of his 12 starts in point-to-points although he has been beaten in his last two. Running out when beaten by Ripstick at Alnwick in a two-horse affair and falling last time out.
Has won two of her last three starts in point-to-points beating small fields both times in early 2017. Only seen once this year in that sphere falling two out at Charm Park over 3m and now makes her hunter chase debut.
Showed some reasonable form over hurdles as recently as January last year but has been well held in her three point-to-point starts so far. Beaten 31L at Hornby Castle last time and now makes her hunter chase debut searching for her old hurdles form.
Forecasts
Diplomate Sivola (11/10), Shantou Prince (7/2), Summoned (5/1), Eco Warrior (7/1), Pads (10/1), Mantou (16/1), Firmount Gent (16/1), Sam's Treasure (25/1), Ripstick (33/1), Simmply Sam (40/1), Curragh Hall (66/1)
Not a strong event although there are a few that you could give a chance to on some of their point-to-point and previous Rules form. Two that would fall into that category would be Firmount Gent and Simmply Sam both of whom have won under rules off marks in the 80’s and a repeat of those efforts would see them placed here. Eco Warrior was a winner last time out and he along with Shantou Prince also enter the equation. This may be best left to DIPLOMATE SIVOLA whose French form puts him well clear of these and shaped well on his first start for the Hobbs team at Ludlow with this being a rare Sedgefield runner for them (2/6 here in the past five years).
- Diplomate Sivola
- Eco Warrior
- Firmount Gent
