Didn't manage to get serious in three runs in novices' company on the All Weather. Makes the switch to turf for handicap debut from a reasonable mark here, with both cheek pieces on and a claimer up. Interesting if supported.

Best effort in three maiden/novices' runs was when third on debut at Carlisle in August (6f, good to soft). Takes sizeable step up in trip for this handicap debut. Pedigree offers a little optimism that he might stay but has that to prove.

Comfortably held in all three runs to date and will need to improve on that to figure on her handicap debut from what looks a stiff enough mark.

Never involved in three outings in the late summer/autumn, all over 1m. Steps up in trip here, which looks positive though he is probably one to watch on his first step into handicap company from a stiff enough mark on what he has achieved.

Showed a bit of promise at a very modest level before being sent off as joint-favourite for his handicap debut when last seen at Newcastle (7f, AW) in October. Gelded since then and dropped 1lb. Enters calculations if he handles the ground.

Showed promise on her second start for Mick Appleby at Kempton in December, though below that level on debut for this stable. Now tries turf for first time and steps up in trip. Dam won on soft ground and she is interesting from this mark.

Look exposed by the end of his two-year-old campaign, his best effort being over this trip at Pontefract (soft) when last seen in October. Stable's runners going well enough but he will need to improve to win from this revised mark.

Ran well in a couple of AW handicaps earlier in the year (1m/1m2f), the latter from today's mark. Handled soft ground well enough when tried on it last year and not ruled out of the frame now returning to turf.

Showed a bit of improvement when going handicapping in September, winning at Redcar (1m, good to soft) from a mark of 55 when last seen. Gelded since then and up 6lb for this reappearance, so another step forward is required.

Yet another handicap newcomer in the field and one who has also been well beaten in all three starts in novices' company from 6f-1m. Initial rating looks plenty stiff enough given all that but yard is in form so may be capable of an improved effort.

Not competitive in three AW novices' events (1m) in the autumn. Returns after a break for handicap debut over a trip that ought to suit. Pedigree suggests that conditions are a potential concern but no surprise to see a significant improvement.

Has been unable to deliver on the promise he showed in maidens since going handicapping. Returns from a break with a 4lb drop in the weights. Step up in trip looks positive and he is not ruled out. Handled good to soft last year.

Ran well much of the way when stepped to this trip in a Newcastle maiden last month and looks on a fair mark for his handicap debut. Should be capable of getting more closely involved.

Stable's runners going well and this gelding would certainly have a squeak based on his run on handicap debut at Wolverhampton (1m1½f, AW) in November. Was not far off that again last time and if he handles the ground then he is not ruled out.

Verdict

Very modest fayre with plenty of handicap debutantes and the market should tell us a fair bit about expectations. The suggestion is REVELEON, who represents Sir Michael Stoute and is one such newcomer to this sphere. This step up in trip ought to suit him and it would be no surprise to see a significant step up on his first three runs. Ocean Side and Ventura Magic are both respected in opposition, while Prediction, Apache Blaze and Onefootinfront are not ruled out. Echo has a 6lb rise to contend with but should remain competitive.
