Didn't flourish in Dubai but back to something like best form when runner-up behind odds-on jolly in Doncaster Mile latest. Quite lightly-raced and potential for better still to come.

Put up two top class efforts in big handicaps last year despite only running on three occasions, with his final Goodwood run suggesting he has a big race within him. Big field handicaps with a strong pace suit and of interest here with Moore booked.

Seasoned campaigner who produced another big run in the Lincoln at Doncaster last month. Continues to thrive and not hard to see him threatening place money again. Vulnerable for the win.

Canford Cliffs gelding recorded a 3½L win in a Class 2 Handicap at Newmarket (1m, soft) on final start last season. Shaped as if needing the run last month at Doncaster having gone up 9lb but too soon to be discounting him.

Useful gelding ran creditable races at Leopardstown last summer over 1m (Listed) and 1m2f (handicap) for Ger Lyons. Handles any ground seemingly and capable of going well fresh. First start for new trainer.

Understandably well fended off in Balmoral Handicap at Ascot (1m, soft) on final start last season from lofty mark, fit from exertions in Dubai this spring and on better terms here sporting first-time hood.

Regally bred colt not disgraced despite some tough assignments last season, with two wins in seven starts. Form of Newmarket second last time out looks very strong with winner hosing up in the Lincoln at Doncaster last month.

Verdict

The form of Afaak's final start last term was well and truly franked when Addeybb put the Lincoln field to the sword last month, his credentials are clear on that showing, though the market will reflect that. Born To Be Alive was a good scorer himself on Town Moor last time while Tony Curtis should be suited by the helter-skelter of this contest. Elusive Heights has the potential to get involved on first start for his new connections but it might be worth forgiving BALLARD DOWN a poor run in the Lincoln. He sluiced home at Newmarket on just his third start on turf last summer and wasn't exactly well drawn last time. There could easily be more to come.
  1. Ballard Down
  2. Afaak
  3. Elusive Heights
