Acclamation filly won her first two starts before finishing never-nearer third from off the pace in Listed Newmarket contest (6f, good to firm). Should make progress this term, though this isn't an easy starter.

Three wins from a dozen starts in busy juvenile campaign, came up short at Listed level four times however, including over C&D (soft) when last spotted in October. More needed.

Ready winner over 5½f novice stakes at Bath on reappearance last month. Up in trip and class but improving sort can go well with champion jockey taking over.

Won her first three starts last term, culminating in 6f Listed success at Newmarket in July. Supported but unable to oblige in Group 3 Fillies' fare at Ascot and Newmarket subsequently and poor on final start at York. Could be more to come.

Cost 85,000 gns as a yearling, showed promise in all three two-year-old starts, landing a 7f novice stakes on the AW at Kempton on her final start. Potential improver and yard in decent form.

Won her first two starts in August last year before going close twice in Group races over this trip at Newmarket on good / good to soft ground. Should be in the firing line and Ryan Moore takes over in the saddle.

Good winner of 1m dirt-maiden at Meydan last month on third start. Hard to quantify that form but daughter of Poet's Voice certainly has some potential and worth paying attention to in betting here on British debut / first turf start.

Won three of five starts as a juvenile and she ran well at Newmarket in both defeats at Group level. Winner of a Listed soft-ground C&D contest when last seen and not out of this if she's wintered well. Entered in 1,000 Guineas.

Obliged as favourite on debut at Doncaster (6½f, soft) in June last year, runner-up here over 6f in Listed event in July before finding Group 2 Lowther at York too hot in August. Potential for more to come.

Picked up a couple of minor prizes at Windsor and Chester on good / good to firm last year before being readily fended off in Listed Rockingham Stakes at York (6f, good). Has benefit of AW spin last month but must improve dramatically up in trip.

Arcano filly can count Group 3 Sweet Solera Stakes at Newmarket (7f, good to soft) amongst trio of wins last season. Below par on final start at Doncaster in the May Hill, but best form on offer.

Forecasts

Gavota (7/4), Tajaanus (9/2), Hikmaa (9/2), Dan's Dream (10/1), Natural (12/1), Dance Diva (14/1), Fille De Reve (16/1), Daddies Girl (16/1), All Out (20/1), Heart Power (25/1), Peggy's Angel (100/1)

Verdict

GAVOTA quickly made up into a Group-race performer last term, winning her first two starts before performing admirable at Newmarket in this class. The likelihood is the Bated Breath filly will have plenty more to offer this term and she looks the one to beat now. Tajaanus is already a winner at this level and needs considering despite a poor final run last season while Dance Diva, Fille De Reve and Hikmaa are lurking as potential improvers.
