Running with some consistency at present, although is finding actually getting his head in front a bit difficult. May find this a shade easier and as he stays well in soft/heavy ground, should be on the premises again.
Has refound his form with a vengeance lately, won as he liked at Chepstow last time and could be called the winner a long way out. Up another 9lb for that but in current frame of mind, would be a brave man to say he can't complete the hat-trick.
Had been on the slide form-wise but new yard turned him around at Warwick last time, finishing a good second to one that's a course specialist. Up 3lb for that but still on a fair mark historically, and looks a player.,
Had shown bits and pieces of promise in novice hurdles but didn't go that well on her first run in a handicap at Fontwell. Step up in trip should help though, and it's simply too soon to go writing her off. Watch market for a clue.
Has fallen a long way in the handicap after a series of moderate efforts but a bit better last two with the cheekpieces applied. Trip a question mark but worth a crack at it, and simply too well handicapped to dismiss.
Plenty of placed efforts to her name but has found winning one a bit tough from this handicap mark. Stays this trip and acts on the ground, but well beaten last time and needs a step forward now.
Early days yet and the way he plugged on at Sandown last time suggests this step up in trip might suit, but yard still struggling for form and on this occasion, he may be best watched.
Well beaten in two handicaps so far and has shown little in the process, but gets a first time tongue tie and cheekpieces here, which might turn his fortunes around. May do better, but comes with risks already.
Tends to run his race more often than not, which is a plus, and given he acts well in soft ground and stays the trip there seems little reason he won't go well again. Genuine and looks to hold place claims again at worst.
Placed in all three of her bumpers, running the useful Lamanver Oddysey quite close on one occasion, three runs in novice hurdles hasn't shown much but goes handicapping on a fair mark and step up in trip should help. Market will guide.
First start for new yard, winner at Plumpton in January but his found life harder from her new revised mark after that. Cheekpieces given a try today but on balance, others make a bit more appeal.
His close second at Chepstow in February shows all isn't lost with him, but inconsistency has been a watchword with him and he's run poorly in two starts since. Comes with plenty of questions, not least this trip.
Not the quickest and needs soft/heavy to show his best, stuck to the task at Taunton last time without ever threatening to win and that may be the same scenario again today.
Just the one win in 14 starts, but does stay this trip and acts on soft/heavy, so has some plus points. Has run respectably last two starts and is feasibly enough handicapped to take a hand if on song.
Only had the six starts and almost came good here last week, staying on strongly to be beaten just a neck (and was slightly hampered). Cheekpieces go on today and a repeat of that from the same mark must take him close.
Forecasts
Bact To Black (3/1), Garrane (6/1), Norse Legend (7/1), Sandhurst Lad (9/1), Albert D'olivate (10/1), Jully Les Buxy (12/1), Cheque En Blanc (12/1), Lerichi Belle (14/1), Point N Shoot (20/1), Costante Via (20/1), Minella Gathering (20/1), Vango De Vaige (25/1), Inch Lala (28/1), Mountain Of Mourne (33/1), Skinflint (33/1)
A tricky contest to solve, and the market might give the best clue as to the chances of the likes of Inch Lala, Bact To Black and especially Constante Via , who has the whiff of a handicap plot about her. But at things stand, it's the rejuvenated GARRANE that makes the most appeal after a couple of easy victories. The handicapper hasn't caught up with him yet and he can go in again. Albert D'Olivate came back to form for his new yard last time out and he might be the one to give Garrane a bit to think about.
- Garrane
- Albert D'olivate
- Costante Via
