Makfi filly who raced just twice as a three-year-old, and those starts were spread over four months apart (6f and 1m). Not shown enough and concedes weight to all of her younger rivals.

25/1
Vocalised filly who is bred to stay further than this 6f trip. Never involved on debut at Cork in June 2017 (5f good to firm), but she's probably better than that effort implies.

Ajmera19

5/2
Beaten just 3L by Katie Cruel in a C&D maiden last month. Whilst she shaped as though stepping back up to 7f is probably advisable, this Canford Cliffs filly should once more be strongest late in this 6f contest given the testing ground.

Her experience of racing so far has come on synthetics at Dundalk (7f and 1m), so a watching brief is advisable over this shorter trip on a totally different racing surface.

Daliyah19
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-0| J: Gary Carroll| T: G M Lyons| OR:  78
7/2
The most experienced filly in the race after making eight career starts and earning a mark in the high 70's. Soft ground holds no fears, and finished just a couple of places behind Ajmera when fifth over C&D last month.

10/1
Born To Sea filly who most likely needed the race at Cork last month (7f heavy), returning from a ten month absence. However, she was beaten over 12L in finishing fourth to Liex Excelsa, so needs quickfire improvement.

La Baule159

Produced rear division finishes on both starts last back-end, so hard to see how she can be involved on the strength of those efforts.

Maymine
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-0| J: Chris Hayes| T: R O'Brien
14/1
Unraced 11th foal by Mayson out of Ermine. Cost 12,000 gns as a foal (£25,000 as a yearling), and is a half-sister to five winners including Top Lock (1m3f) and Chain Of Events (1m2f).

Age: 3|  Weight: 9-0| J: Colin Keane| T: G M Lyons| BF
10/1
Well named Vocalised filly who represents a trainer in form. She was a beaten favourite on her second start at Cork last month (7f heavy), and is closely matched with Impossibility based on that effort. Progress possible, but required.

5/2
Unraced first foal by Acclamation out of the Listed placed 6f juvenile winner Pearl Sea. Cost €100,000 as a yearling (40,000 gns as a foal), so rates as very much a horse for close paddock inspection.
11
(6)
Horse silk
40/1
Dream Ahead filly (€34,000 foal) who didn't appear to be anything out of the ordinary in a couple of 6f spins as a juvenile. Wears a hood for the first time on seasonal reappearance.
12
(4)
Horse silk
25/1
Unraced Cityscape filly who fetched €60,000 as a juvenile, which represented a considerable mark up on her price as a foal. Sprint pedigree (dam a 5f winner), but her trainer also saddles the more experienced Ajmera.

Forecasts

So Long Marianne (5/2), Ajmera (5/2), Daliyah (7/2), Scream (10/1), Impossibility (10/1), Maymine (14/1), Aiseolas (25/1), Wilderness (25/1), Tush (28/1), Summerseat Dream (40/1), Cantstoptherock (50/1), La Baule (50/1)

Verdict

Tough conditions for these mainly inexperienced fillies with So Long Marianne perhaps the most alluring of the newcomers. However, we'll opt to be cautious and stick with those with more form in the book. Daliyah certainly ticks that box after eight career starts, but she should be thereabouts for a trainer in reasonable form. However, AJMERA finished a couple of places in front of her over C&D last month, and looks to be the clear pick of the Johnny Murtagh trained pair. She might need further than 6f sooner rather than later, but she promises to be finishing off her race stronger than most today as a result.
  1. Ajmera
  2. Aiseolas
  3. Daliyah
