Consistent sort who holds no secrets from the handicapper. Ran well enough in AW Championships last week but others likely to prove better handicapped.

Won a Group 2 as a juvenile and not beaten far in 2016 Irish Derby. Had his issues since and return from a significant absence didn't reveal much last time when fifth of seven at Wolverhampton. Could be well-handicapped but must bounce back.

Winner on debut but has lost his way a little and only seen twice last year, well beaten on both starts. Plenty of questions to answer on return from another absence.

Doesn't get his head in front often these days and he's in a poor run of form at present in both codes. Opposable from the widest draw.

Yet to record a win since his move to this yard but he was an impressive runner-up at Royal Ascot (40/1) in 2016. Entitled to need this on return from an absence though.

Often stays consistent once he hits form and has done so recently, winning two and placing on the remainder of his last five starts. Latest win came over C&D and still well-handicapped on old form so can't be discounted if he can overcome the draw.

Has won each of his last four starts and shaped like he would have non problem coping with a 6lb rise in the weights when winning last time out. Having his first run here but suspicion the assessor hasn't caught him yet and he's the one to beat.

Has been running well over hurdles lately and only a shade higher than his last winning Flat mark. Doesn't win all that often but usually runs well and has solid place claims again.

Winner here last time out and arrives bidding for a four-timer. Has won over this far over hurdles but suspicion the handicapper is catching up with him now.

Two-time C&D winner. On a fair mark but last win came over a year ago now and he tends to need his reappearance run.

Hit and miss performer last year and just has a maiden win to his name. Handicapper is refusing to relent and may need this run off the back of absence.

Forecasts

Inn The Bull (7/2), Dominating (4/1), Ooty Hill (5/1), Author's Dream (5/1), Champagne Champ (6/1), Curbyourenthusiasm (7/1), Gavlar (8/1), See Of Rome (8/1), Gwafa (8/1), Sunblazer (14/1), Port Douglas (22/1), First Mohican (40/1), Cayirli (50/1)

Verdict

AUTHOR'S DREAM is clearly a horse going in the right direction and he looks capable of handling his rise in the weights in a bid for a five-timer. Sunblazer loves it around here and has been in good form of late while Champagne Champ has been running well over hurdles and should be competitive off this mark.
