Improved form at the end of last season when cheepieces (left off today) saw a second and two wins. Stays this far and could improve again this year.

Ran well off this mark on first start for new stable (formerly Ed Dunlop) at Wolverhampton. The extra distance a big plus and will be fitter for the run. Looks well handicapped for top trainer of sprinters.

Back to winning handicap mark over C&D last October. This is a stronger race and needs to bounce back from three disappointing runs.

Best run for latest stable when third over C&D off current mark. Got too far back in slowly run race and a live hope on a quick reappearance.

Bounced back to winning form over C&D when benefiting from more patient tactics. Didn't get a clear run so potentially still well handicapped off 4lb higher.

Plummeting in the weights and not won for two years. Suited by a return here but didn't show enough on stable debut.

Ran better than the bare result from a wide draw over 7f last start. Back to winning handicap mark over C&D in December and while this is tougher, is a place chance.

Tends to be better for a run so it was a good effort to win here over 5f last month. No problem with extra furlong or 4lb rise and looks primed to go well again.

Travelled strongly and didn't get a clear run over shorter last start. Suited by extra distance but is edging back up in the weights and this is tougher.

Forecasts

Zamjar (5/2), Aguerooo (9/2), Dutiful Son (5/1), Jashma (6/1), Red Tycoon (6/1), Gold Club (10/1), Evening Starlight (12/1), Danecase (14/1), Porto Ferro (16/1)

Verdict

A competitive sprint handicap where Evening Starlight looks sure to be competitive following her comeback win. Jashma should be noted in the betting following the progression he showed at the back end of last season while Red Tycoon could easily follow up under the change of riding style. The likely extra pace brings Dutiful Son into consideration but slight preference is for ZAMJAR who really caught the eye at Wolverhampton and looks only likely to improve for his new trainer.
  1. Zamjar
  2. Evening Starlight
  3. Red Tycoon
