Gave the impression that there was a better performance in him on his second start in handicap hurdles (off 2lb more). Lightly-raced over hurdles since then with question marks over his jumping; back from a break in a jumpers bumper last time.
A frustrating sort who is still a maiden. Has been let down by jumping on a few occasions. Beaten favourite here over C&D last time when held up off the pace. Claimer back on board takes off a valuable 5lb.
Latest flat win at Bath (1m3½f, good to firm) came off a mark of 60. Sent off favourite for hurlding debut at Plumpton before slightly weak effort at Ludlow next time. Handicap debut today from a mark that should be workable after a six month break.
Has struggled this season and beaten a long way in a point when last seen. Step back in trip today and mark is slipping but hard to fancy at present.
Four time winner on the flat who has shown little since switching to current yard. Mark is slipping as a result and no surprise were he to bounce back to form for a yard that does well here.
Has form on soft ground but has not won since picking up a novice event a Lingfield in 2016. Continues to drop in weights as a result and wasn't totally without promise at Taunton last time. Market moves could be significant.
Successful 14 times in 107 starts and ran well when finishing third at Doncaster (good-to-soft) last time out. Races off a 2lb lower mark today and has won on heavy ground in the past.
Ran with credit in a stronger race than this at Sandown (2m, soft) last time. Drops back in class here and is down another 2lb. Advancing years but very likely to run his race.
Only seven starts under rules and has been well beaten in all of them. Starts life with a new yard today off a long lay off and needs new surroundings to have a positive effect.
Has struggled so far in bumpers and over hurdles. Runs off a lowly mark but needs a sharp upturn in performance to take a hand today.
Taken a step forward with each run this winter and went close when closing second at Ffos Las (2m, heavy) last time. Nudged up 2lbs for that effort but gets in here off a low weight and with conditions no problem has an excellent chance.
Forecasts
Be Daring (7/2), Dragon Khan (5/1), Welluptoscratch (6/1), Goldslinger (13/2), Kastani Beach (7/1), Bee An Aristocrat (7/1), Westerbee (14/1), High Wells (16/1), Hollywood Ken (20/1), Thundering Home (20/1), Newquay Cards (25/1)
The opener may not be quite as competitive as the numbers suggest. Market moves for either Goldslinger or Westerbee could be significant and should be noted. Be Daring is another one that should be considered but the selection has to be DRAGON KHAN. He has the most appealing profile of these and with conditions absolutely no problem, he is taken to gain a well earned success.
- Dragon Khan
- Goldslinger
- Westerbee
