Useful sprinter at best, hasn't won for a while but is a C&D winner and should be match fit after a couple of efforts this year (not disgraced latest). Well drawn and if the gaps come late, should be involved at the business end.

Rather a victim of his own consistency as despite the fact he finds it hard to win, he tends to run his race and the handicapper only now relenting a little. Likely to find this trip on the short side anyway and others make more appeal.

No experience of synthetic surfaces but breeding suggests it won't be a problem. A winner at Ripon last year from 4lb lower although doesn't always find what you'd expect when push comes to shove. May need this and others preferred.

Fully exposed, last win (at York in the summer) came off this mark but overall record of just three wins in 46 starts tells you he doesn't always put it in at the finish. Having second start since a wind operation but others preferred.

Consistent and knocking at the door, looked ready to strike after a close third to the multiple winner Spare Parts at Kempton latest and drop back to 6f may suit. Is a C&D winner and looks one of the more likely ones.

Rattled off the hat-trick in fine style last summer and looked a much improved horse in the process. Not disgraced at Ascot on final start but may need this after a break and may need to come down a few pounds in the handicap too.

No problem with trip or surface and from a decent draw, may try to take these from start to finish, but has been plying her trade at a lower grade and has still been well beaten. Needs to improve again to trouble one or two of these.

Forecasts

Calder Prince (2/1), Dougan (7/2), Rastacap (6/1), Fast Track (13/2), Delagate This Lord (15/2), Hee Haw (10/1), Lexington Times (10/1)

Verdict

Rastacap looks the likely pace angle but her form to date isn't good enough to take this, and she may be vulnerable late on. DOUGAN hasn't won for a while but looks to have been readied for a crack at this and as long as the breaks come, he can get on top late on. Fast Track has winning form here and is in good form at present; he could prove to be the main danger.
  1. Dougan
  2. Fast Track
  3. Rastacap
