Regressive form for some time and has changed stables three times in the last three months. Only win came for Paul Cole over 1m2f back in October 2015. Hard to enthuse over despite further 4lb drop.
Narrowly beaten over 1m2f last time at Chelmsford, keeping on well close home. First start for new trainer and worth a try at this trip but remains 8lb higher than only previous winning mark.
Two wins here this winter over 1m2f under today's rider (who also won this race last year), and latest tailed off effort can be forgiven as was badly hampered. This trip will stretch her stamina but shouldn't be too far away.
19-race maiden but has gone close over C&D on two of his last four starts. May again be in the thick of the action but does tend to keep find one or two too good for him.
Has looked a doubtful stayer in three attempts at or around this trip so has a point to prove. Flattened out final furlong last time having travelled well, but 3lb drop may possibly help the cause.
Five runs on turf last term hinting at a little ability. Makes AW debut here after 169-day break and is open to some improvement. Decent young rider on board so worth a market check for any interest.
Won this race 12 months ago off 2lb lower mark and also scored at Kempton following month. Four-month absence to overcome and usually needs a run to blow the cobwebs away but second race success not ruled out if market speaks in his favour.
Previous C&D winner very much into the veteran stage now. Scored over 1m2f in January and ran over inadequate trip last time so is respected despite advancing years. Top apprentice booked suggesting some stable confidence.
Both wins have come on turf over 1m6f. Ran poorly in two previous AW starts and has 164-day absence to overcome. 10lb higher than last wining mark so on balance others are much preferred.
Last won in December 2012 and has show little form in four starts since returning form a long spell on the sidelines. Impossible to recommend given recent evidence despite lowly mark.
Forecasts
Outofthequestion (9/4), Widnes (4/1), Intermodal (5/1), Zoffany Bay (6/1), Pivotal Flame (7/1), Karam Albaari (12/1), Our Cilla (14/1), Victor's Bet (16/1), Ladurelli (25/1), Norwegian Reward (66/1)
There are doubts about most of the contenders in this finale so a chance is taken that PIVOTAL FLAME can see out this trip under last year's winning rider. Victor's Bet won this race 12 months ago and a bold show is not ruled out despite him arriving here in lesser form, and Zoffany Bay shouldn't be far away tackling this new trip. Widnes and Karam Albaari also have claims, while an improved display from Outofthequestion is not out of the question..
- Pivotal Flame
- Victor's Bet
- Outofthequestion
