Raised 1lb after seeming to take well to the AW when finishing fourth last time over C&D, keeping on in the closing stages. With that experience to call on she shouldn't be far away once again.
First-time cheekpieces applied on this gelded son of Le Havre who has looked more at home on turf than on the AW to date. Dropped 4lb after two poor efforts this year and is hard to recommend.
Makes her handicap debut here after three starts having shaped with some promise on her debut before disappointing on her last two outings, including on debut for current yard last time. Open to improvement though and a better display not ruled out.
AW debut after four starts on turf last term. Made a good impresssion on first start in Newbury maiden but generally disappointing since, including in a handicap. Has five month absence to overcome.
Three starts last term in maiden and novice company, catching the eye on a couple of occasions. First handicap venture now and steps up in trip so looks potentially interesting. One for the short list.
Stable in decent form of last and ran a fair first start for current yard when third at Chelmsford last time out. Has claims on that effort if in similar form and is worthy of consideration.
Hails from top yard and has fine pedigree, being by Oasis Dream out of a half-sister to Derby winner Workforce. Not knocked about in three starts to date and starts handicapping career on lowly mark. Definitely worth a market check.
Disappointing for Charles Hills last term but made a good start for current trainer when winning at Southwell in February. Not disgraced there in two subsequent starts, and step up in trip and different surface here may help. First-tme cheekpieces.
Generally disappointing in five starts for Richard Hughes last term. Debut for new connections and steps up in trip, but on balance has something to find.
Signs of modest ability last term but ran poorly in AW maiden handicap at Lingfield in January. First start since wind surgery so could be open to improvement. Worth a glance in the betting markets.
Runs off same mark as last week when trotting up in Southwell 1m apprentice handicap. Different surface now and has further to travel, but is in great heart and should give another good account of herself.
Seven-race maiden who has shown very little ability to date and is 1lb out of the handicap. First-time blinkers need to spark big improvement and looks a risky proposition.

Forecasts
Braemar (15/8), Casima (6/1), He's Our Star (6/1), Appenzeller (8/1), Political Slot (10/1), Sigrid Nansen (11/1), Normandy Blue (12/1), Pact Of Steel (12/1), Cherubic (16/1), Short Head (18/1), Goodbye Lulu (40/1), Pammi (100/1), Counterfeit (100/1)
APPENZELLER has shaped with promise a couple of times and makes his handicap bow on a tempting mark, so a chance is taken he can deliver at the first time of asking in this sphere. The classically bred Braemar could be a danger off his mark but needs to show more than last term, while Cassima, Short Head, and Sigrid Nansen shouldn't be far away. Last week's Southwell scorer Political Slot is respected but this is a very different challenge.
- Appenzeller
- Sigrid Nansen
- Braemar
