Reliable mare who has already registered a couple of successes in 2018, hence her welter burden. Stayed on strongly to see off a fairly modest bunch of rivals at Newcastle latest (2m heavy), and faces a very similar task here.
Campaigned in point-to-points of late without success, and hasn't raced under rules since May 2017. Looks a most unlikely leading light on just her second ever hurdles start.
Twice a runner up in bumpers, including at this track on Boxing Day when beaten just under 3L by Eternally Yours (2m1f soft). Made a low-key hurdles debut at Newcastle in January (fourth), but better suited by dropping back in trip today.
Absent since September 2017 (2m4f Perth) and has looked a moderate performer thus far on all available racecourse evidence.
Sister to a bumper/2m4f jumps winner (Wishmoor), but didn't really blossom in bumpers. Lacked fluency when well beaten by Raised On Grazeon on hurdles debut at Newcastle (2m heavy).
Her dam Mini Minster was a 2m-2m4f hurdles winner for this trainer, so she could have more too offer now encountering timber for the first time. Lacked the pace/nous for a bumper here on Boxing Day on her sole start.
No match for Raised On Grazeon at Catterick on New Years Day (2m soft) despite being sent off 6/4f. Fairly reliable prior to that being a three time runner up over 2m4f. Possibilities on better terms.
Finished third in a bumper here on Boxing Day (Birch Vale second), and is seemingly getting the hang of things over hurdles after a fair effort at Market Rasen latest (2m+ soft). Further progress required, but looks likely.
No show in a trio of bumpers in 2018. Sent off at sizeable odds on all three occasions, so it'll come as a major surprise if she's the solution on hurdles debut.
Stable in form, but this Oscar filly looked totally clueless when making her hurdles debut over C&D last Tuesday (pulled up). This looks to be simply another staging point in her gradual development.

Paper Roses (13/8), Raised On Grazeon (9/4), Birch Vale (3/1), Trooblue (7/1), Love At Dawn (33/1), Mini Dreams (66/1), Magic Of Milan (66/1), Alice Lisle (66/1), I'll Run With You (80/1), Beyond The Glen (125/1), L'attendue (125/1)
A race which lacks strength in depth, so it should go the way of last month's Newcastle winner RAISED ON GRAZEON. She has yet another penalty to carry in addition to the one she receives for winning at Catterick on New Years Day, and whilst she locks horns with Paper Roses on disadvantageous terms as a result, she's far more convincing that the Donald Whillans trained mare over 2m. Both Trooblue and Birch Vale could progress, with the Donald McCain trained mare arguably much better suited by this lesser test of stamina than at Newcastle on her hurdles debut (2m4f).
- Raised On Grazeon
- Birch Vale
