Only narrowly behind Captain Pugwash here last month and generally goes well over this trip. Should manage to land a place at least off the same mark.
No win since September 2016 but has run some nice races on the AW recently. Creeping down to a very appealing handicap mark and could break his AW duck here.
Well-beaten on his two starts so far this year (particularly over this trip last time), and a drop of 4lb isn't enough for those performances to be overlooked.
Usually runs his race over these sort of trips including on Polytrack, and should be able to pick up a victory off this mark sooner or later, though this may be a slightly tougher event.
Has run fairly well on his last two starts over hurdles but needs to transfer that form back to the Flat now in a first-time visor, having not scored on the level since May 2015.
Generally poor in handicaps so far but took a step in the right direction on stable debut at Kempton last time and holds place claims if able to build on that.
Both career wins over 1m and form has levelled off somewhat on his last few starts (mark remains very similar). Stays this far but probably better over shorter.
C&D winner two starts back and is 5lb higher in the weights now. Ran fairly well back here last time in a similar level event to this and he gets on well with this rider.
Returned after a long absence in September but has beaten only three horses home in four races and impossible to build a case for until improving on that sort of form.
Only career win came on Polytrack, but that was in a 1m maiden at Kempton, and a marked improvement on his recent handicap form is required here.
Forecasts
Tha'ir (9/4), Nonios (9/2), Rainbow Rebel (11/2), Captain Pugwash (7/1), Bluff Crag (10/1), Manchego (10/1), Intermodal (10/1), Craggaknock (12/1), Echo Brava (20/1), Dr Julius No (25/1)
Not beaten far off this mark last time CAPTAIN PUGWASH could add to his C&D victory two starts back. That was a fiercely competitive race for which he was sent of 5/1 co-favourite, and though this hardly looks easy he should be able to go even closer. Rainbow Rebel is yet to score on the AW but has been running well on synthetic surface recently and is also considered, as well as top-weight Nonios.
- Captain Pugwash
- Rainbow Rebel
- Nonios
