Finished the Flat turf season in fine style winning on soft over sprint trips off lower marks. Not seen since winning at Nottingham over 5f and did start slowly in both those wins; now makes her Fibresand debut (sire has a 10% strike-rate here).

Made a promising return to action last time at Lingfield over 5f off a 2lb higher mark and has previously run well here in two previous visits. May well have needed the run after a 93 day break and looks sure to go well on a return to this surface.

From a stable that do well with sprinters he's yet to win here but has been placed on all his three starts (322). Has faced stiff tasks on his last two starts and will be more comfortable back in this grade despite being above his last winning mark.

Found his form when winning two small field handicaps over 5f at Windsor late last summer but hasn't really fired since. Returned from a break last time without the tongue-tie he wore for those wins (left off again) and makes his Fibresand debut.

Having won a maiden on his Fibresand debut over 6f he proved himself over C&D with a handicap win off a 7lb lower mark. Made further improvement away from this surface at Chelmsford (5f, slow) last time and probably has further go forward in him.

Looked badly out of sorts here last time and finished well beaten (raced on worst part of track) behind Something Lucky/Crosse Fire. For all he has some good form over C&D that has come in weaker races and he's 4lb wrong at the weights here.

Crosse Fire2

A stalwart at the track he's a five-time C&D winner who ran well last time but was narrowly denied by Something Lucky (had a bit in hand). Likely to run another sound race but runs from out of the handicap here and others make more appeal.

Forecasts

Verdict

A good an interesting sprint for the track with some good Fibresand form on display although the three that met here earlier in the week – Something Lucky, Crosse Fire and Archimedes all have a little to find although it’s hard to totally write off the first-named of that trio as he always appears to keep a little for himself. ARZAAK was beaten by Brother Tiger last time out at Lingfield but the former was returning from a break and has looked a natural on this surface in his two visits here so far. Jack The Truth is another C&D winner who stays further and can’t be ignored returning to this surface after showing his worth on a different synthetic surface last time out.
