Kheleyf filly, dam placed in listed company. Has shown precious little in two starts so far finishing a distant last both on turf at Leicester last year and on the A/W at Wolverhampton last week.

Form: 5-5

Age: 3| Weight: 9-3| J: William Cox⁽⁵⁾| T: M Murphy| OR: 71| D

6/5

Off the mark at the 10th time of asking in 5f Nottingham maiden last October. Rested since then, but has run respectably all three starts on A/W so has leading claims assuming she's fit enough.

Expediate²⁰⁵

Age: 3| Weight: 9-1| J: Andrea Atzeni| T: R M H Cowell| OR: 60

5/2

Didn't show a great amount in three starts last term and has since been gelded. Not one to completely dismiss though as may do better this term, so market should help guide as to expectations here.

Form: 565-

Shortbackandsides^p1²¹

Age: 3| Weight: 9-1| J: B A Curtis| T: S Dixon

5/1

Fast Company half-brother to two winners has hinted at ability in two starts. May improve over an extra furlong in due course, but first-time cheekpieces may focus his mind a little better.

Form: 35

(4)

Marietta Robusti⁷

Age: 3| Weight: 8-10| J: Callum Shepherd⁽³⁾| T: M R Channon| OR: 62

4/1

Not disgraced in all three start thus far, including when third at Newcastle at this trip last time out. Decent apprentice claims 3lb and should be very much in the thick of the action.

Form: 563

Forecasts

Kodiac Express (6/5), Expediate (5/2), Marietta Robusti (4/1), Shortbackandsides (5/1), Tina Teaspoon (66/1)

With fitness guaranteed it may pay to take a chance on the filly MARIETTA ROBUSTI who is no world-beater but looks up to getting the better of her four rivals on this occasion. Main danger is expected to come from last term's Nottingham maiden winner Kodiac Express, off for five months but very much respected, while cheekpieces may spark an improvment in Shotbackandsides. Any money for Expediate would be noteworthy on his first outing since being gelded.
