Claimed for £7,000 from Derek Shaw earlier this month, he's kept his form well until struggling a fraction in a competitive contest at Southwell on Friday. No issues with this track, but has seen plenty of action lately.

A winner over 5f at Bath in August, he's gradually picked up the baton back on the AW, and promises to be at his strongest now fully tuned up. Finished 2L behind Captain Lars over C&D latest, but has strong claims for a reversal.

No doubting that 5f is trip, but he's worryingly 1 from 13 on the AW with his sole success coming over C&D in July 2016 (when rated 90). Slipping in the weights, but has had plenty of chances.

A C&D winner from a much lower mark in May 2017, and has won twice on turf at Nottingham since. Seemingly not at his best latest when finishing last of eight to Karijini (6f, Kempton).

Age: 4|  Weight: 9-6| J: George Downing| T: D M Loughnane| OR:  78| CDWS

Front-runner, and an improved performer on turf last season, winning three 5f events between May and July. Goes on the AW (1 from 3), and whilst absent since mid August, has had wind surgery.

Jorvik Prince27
Age: 4|  Weight: 9-2| J: Gemma Tutty(5)| T: K Tutty| OR:  74| CD
3/1
Dual C&D winner who has been in the rudest of health this winter (2,1,1,1,2,3 since December 2017). Up the weights, but beaten just in excess of 1L by Jack The Truth over C&D in late January, and remains much respected.

12/1
Much stronger on turf than on the AW, with her sole synthetics success in 30 attempts coming over 6f at this track in September 2015. Mixed form recently against a few of these rivals, but on balance is opposed.

Deeds Not Wordsp10
Age: 7|  Weight: 8-7| J: F Norton| T: M Wigham| OR:  62| D
10/1
Not won since June 2017 when completing a hat-trick of victories. Better known for his exploits over 6f, with both of his AW victories coming over that trip, and a plunging mark doesn't offer enough to tempt.

Forecasts

Jorvik Prince (3/1), Captain Lars (7/2), September Issue (4/1), Shamshon (9/2), Deeds Not Words (10/1), Fethiye Boy (10/1), Penny Dreadful (12/1), Classic Pursuit (20/1)

Verdict

The majority of these horses are no strangers to one another with interwoven form lines plentiful. Captain Lars has been campaigned aggressively by Archie Watson since being acquired for £7,000 earlier this month, and that busy spell will take it's toll eventually. Jorvik Prince has proved the stable star of the Tutty family business this winter, clocking up the miles in the horsebox up and down the motorway, but yielding a multitude of gains, and he should run his usual rock-solid race, turning the tables on Penny Dreadful. However, it is the lightly raced SEPTEMBER ISSUE that is the most interesting runner. He has 2L to make up with Captain Lars based on their most recent C&D clash, but he promises to be sharper now and is strongly fancied to reverse those placings today.
