Front running hat-trick seeker who got the ball rolling when winning by 6L over C&D in early January. A ready winner over 1m2f at Lingfield latest, he holds every chance despite the concession of 8lb+ to all of his other rivals.
Unraced first foal by Casamento out of the French 1m4f to 1m5f winner Esposa. Sales price increased to 60,000 gns as a juvenile (€9,500 foal). Stablemate of Elysees.
Unraced sixth foal by Champs Elysees out of an unraced Sadler's Wells dam (Queen Of Tara). Closely related to 1m+ AW winner Shah of Armann and fetched 30,000 gns as a yearling. Stablemate of Caspar the Cub.
Nathaniel colt who cost a pretty penny (€250,000) as a yearling. Has looked to be a slow learner thus far, but could be slowly getting his act together, so shouldn't be written off yet.
Unraced third foal by Dubawi out of a moderate High Chaparral mare (half-sister to a 1m4f Group 2 winner), which explains the 500,000 gns price tag as a yearling. Half-brother to useful 1m winning juvenile Total Star.
Improving with experience, and ran his best race yet when upped in trip (over C&D) earlier in the month; finishing 1¼L third to Galactic Spirit. Not without a chance if he can find further improvement.
Unraced fourth foal by Dawn Approach out of the French 1m2f winner Isobel Archer (sister to 7f Group 1 winning juvenile Naaqoos). Half-brother to the talented 7f+ winner Bow And Arrow, so ticks plenty of boxes for a leading trainer.
Unraced fourth foal by Camelot out of a Listed placed 1m3f+ winning dam (Syvilla). Half-sister to various winners, but her pedigree implies that stamina will be her forte, so this trip might prove plenty sharp enough.
Forecasts
Warburton (11/8), Desert Wind (7/4), Suprematism (11/2), Moon of Baroda (8/1), Elysees (20/1), Caspar The Cub (33/1), Mood For Mischief (50/1), Dance Legend (100/1)
Desert Wind seeks the hat-trick, but this habitual front runner will very much have the bulls-eye firmly attached to his back, and faces no easy task giving weight to all of his rivals. More than a couple of these horses make appeal on pedigree, but have probably cost their connections more than enough cash at the sales. Suprematism is improving with racing, and he appreciated the extra yardage when placed over C&D last time, but the confident vote goes to the Godolphin owned newcomer WARBURTON. He is a half-brother to the useful winning juvenile Bow and Arrow, and his trainer Charlie Appleby always rates as a man to follow at Dunstall Park, so he's strongly fancied to make a winning debut for the boys in blue.
- Warburton
- Desert Wind
- Suprematism
