Lightly-raced and attracted support on his handicap debut over 1m here last month when a respectable third behind Felisa. Shaped as though worth a try over this longer trip and has to be of interest despite a less than ideal draw.
Improved to open his account over an extended 1m1f at Wolverhampton in November and has placed in both runs since, including on first attempt at this C&D last time. First-time visor could unlock further improvement.
Fair pedigree being a half-sister to numerous winners but only moderate promise in three middle-distance maidens. For all that, no surprise if finding improvement on her handicap debut and a market move would be interesting.
Took advantage of a falling mark when getting up late to open his account over 1m2f at Chelmsford last time out in first-time cheekpieces. Bigger questions asked from a 6lb higher mark as he steps up in trip, though still a player.
Much-improved since going handicapping, finishing a runner-up in all three attempts, most recently when short-headed over 1m2f at Kempton (2lb lower mark). Didn't look keen to overtake that day so a visor could help unlock improvement.
Has improved for the switch to handicaps, winning over 1m at Chelmsford last summer though was well held there off a 5lb higher mark next time. Up in trip on return from a lengthy break having being gelded in the meantime.
Showed little of note in three juvenile maidens and it was a similar story on his nursery debut on the fibresand at Southwell (1m) in December. Hopes pinned on the step up in trip for his reappearance.
Took a step forward on his handicap debut when finishing a 4½L third over 1m2f at Chelmsford but ran abysmally over the same C&D next time. Headgear reached for now as he steps up in trip.
Found it tough going in three quick runs in 6f and 7f maidens last month, including in first-time cheekpieces here last time. No surprise if he was a different proposition over a longer trip on his handicap debut, however.
Either last or second-last in all three novice races and showed little sign of improvement on his handicap debut at Chelmsford when no match for Global Angle. Plenty to find over this longer trip.
Has done little to recommend him so far in maidens or novice events, finishing stone last at triple-digit odds the last twice. Hard to get excited about as he goes handicapping over a longer trip.
Never a serious danger on any of her six efforts so far, including in a selling event and two subsequent handicaps over 7f and an extended 1m. Up in trip but still hard to enthuse over.
Forecasts
Mouchee (5/2), Global Angel (7/2), Father Ailbe (5/1), Good Impression (5/1), Dorian Gray (8/1), Genuinely Crowded (11/1), Four Fifty Three (20/1), Seasearch (20/1), Forricherforpoorer (25/1), Voice Of Dubai (25/1), Rose Of Shiraz (50/1), Keynote (66/1)
A race which throws up plenty of questions from a trip perspective but there's plenty to like about the chances of FATHER ALIBE after an eyecatching third-place finish on his handicap debut over a clearly inadequate 1m here last month. Significantly, John Butler's gelding was backed into favouritism that day and is evidently thought better than his current mark. Global Angel and Good Impression bring strong 1m2f form to the table and merit a place on any shortlist whilst handicap debutants Genuinely Overcrowded and Voice of Dubai would be of interest if the subject of a market move.
- Father Ailbe
- Good Impression
- Genuinely Crowded
