Given a savage 11lb rise by the assessor for her 3¾L success at Chelmsford in November (made all). Still lightly raced after just six starts, and should have more to offer, but has her work cut out to do so.
A nine race maiden who makes her second start wearing cheek-pieces. Finished one place (¾L) behind Cherry Oak at Newcastle on her penultimate start, and needs to deliver more if to reverse those placings on similar terms.
Almost certainly needed the run at Newcastle last month (her first start since August) when finishing a weakening but close up fifth of eight to Swissie (5f). Dropped 1lb for her second AW start, and not fully exposed.
Now a seven race maiden, but continues in decent form on the Tapeta at Newcastle (5f to 6f). Should win a race eventually, but is 4lb higher than when beaten ¾L by Lady Lintera latest.
Made a winning handicap debut at Newcastle last month (5f), and has been hit with a 4lb rise for that success. Had the measure of Ideal Spirit and Ghost on that occasion, but with the benefit of a more recent run.
A seven race maiden who doesn't really shape as an obvious winner. That said; her recent Newcastle form against the likes of Swissie and Cherry Oak/Sienna Says doesn't necessarily leave her with a mountain to climb.
A six race maiden who produced a clear career best effort when beaten 2L by Avon Green over C&D last week. However, her earlier Newcastle effort leaves her with a little bit to find with Swissie.
Forecasts
Rock On Baileys (7/4), Cherry Oak (7/2), Swissie (9/2), Sienna Says (6/1), Ideal Spirit (10/1), Ghost (12/1), Amazing Amaya (12/1)
Something of a head-scratching contest with a number of these runners apparently fairly closely matched, and the over-riding impression being that this race should be run at Newcastle given the Tyneside form-lines on offer. Only Swissie and ROCK ON BAILEYS arrive as non-maidens, albeit with Ghost perhaps less exposed than a few of the others, and probably very much needing the run last month. The selection needs to return in tip-top form if to defy a savage 11lb rise in the weights, but with opposition thin enough on the ground, she could well conceivably bounce out and make all from stall 3 for a trainer who very much knows the time of day with his sprinters.
- Rock On Baileys
- Ghost
- Cherry Oak
