Ran his best race in some time to be fourth over C&D last Wednesday. On that same attractive handicap mark now and holds claims if overcoming a wide draw.
Has had two good placed efforts here so far this year (including once over C&D). On the same mark despite those being defeats by less than a length and definitely one to consider once again.
C&D winner last time when getting the better of an in-form rival. Up just 2lb here and should be capable of going close again off this revised mark.
Goes well here but all wins over shorter and has plenty to find with rivals who may be better equipped to excel over this trip.
A winner at Newcastle last week though that was a slightly bizarre race (was allowed to take an unassailable lead) and was narrowly beaten by Gone With The Wind on his penultimate start. Should be thereabouts.
Lower than sole winning handicap mark but recent efforts have been unimpressive and his draw has to be seen as a negative.
Carries a 6lb penalty for a narrow win in a weak race last time. Beaten 8L by Outlaw Torn prior to that and has something to prove carrying the extra weight.
0-9 on the AW so far and seems to be more effective on turf. Not disgraced the last twice at Southwell, however.
Irish raider who is capable of putting in a good performance but hasn't been impressing with recent efforts at Dundalk. Did run well on one of two previous visits here, however.
Yet to get off the mark and despite a couple of good attempts here in the past he has plenty to find with most of these.
Ran fairly well behind Cockney Boy last time and races off the same mark here but holes can be found in that form and he's not always one to rely on.
Not far away at a price over C&D last time and not ruled out of hitting the frame if able to build on that off the same mark.
Fair effort in a first-time hood at Chelmsford on Friday but that's swapped for a visor here and looks to have been a very poor race.
Forecasts
Critical Thinking (3/1), Outlaw Torn (3/1), Sir Lancelott (11/2), Babette (12/1), Cockney Boy (12/1), Idol Deputy (14/1), Sheer Intensity (16/1), Gone With The Wind (16/1), Mamnoon (20/1), Coach Bombay (20/1), Win Lose Draw (20/1), Life Of Luxury (22/1), Broughtons Fancy (33/1)
A competitive enough race where CRITICAL THINKING makes plenty of appeal. Placed over C&D last time and beaten less than a length, he remains on the same mark here and following another fine effort at this course (over slightly further) he seems to be in the right form to get his head back in front. Outlaw Torn is another in good form but his win at Newcastle last week has to be taken with a pinch of salt given the nature of victory, while his recent conqueror Gone With The Wind is also worth considering.
- Critical Thinking
- Outlaw Torn
- Gone With The Wind
