33/1 when well held in a bumper on his racecourse debut last month and now tries hurdles for the first time. Needs to show a lot more to be able to take a hand here.
Useful sort in bumpers and won one at Taunton on his second start although that was over two years ago now when he was with Alex Dunn. Made a decent comeback last time out after 19 months off for his current yard and open to improvement if he can stand training.

Had hinted at having some ability when making his bumper debut nearly two years ago but ended up well held on his recent hurdles debut. Would need to show much more to take a hand here given that outing where he also showed some temperament.

Looks to have proved a little disappointing so far with his hurdling on most of his outings less than fluent. Tried over various trips and beaten at short prices on both of his last two starts; clearly capable on his day but needs to improve further yet.

Makes his hurdles debut here having shown very little in his sole bumper run where he struggled from an early stage. Best watched here given his inexperience.

Showed very little in two bumpers a month apart starting big prices both times and has had wind surgery since. Still hard to fashion a case for him though on what he's shown so far.

Went backwards from his debut run in bumpers and showed very little on his hurdles debut when tailed off and pulled up at Taunton.

Only offered glimpses of ability when seen in bumpers spread out over a couple of years. Looks the sort who hasn't stood much racing and offered little when making his hurdles debut.

Successful on his sole run in point-to-points he shaped like a stayer on his bumper debut (still looked very green). Took third after rallying well and looks the type to improve over hurdles and makes his debut in that sphere now.
Showed some useful form in bumpers although he looked to need a greater test of stamina than they provided. Ran well on his hurdles debut recently (form already franked) and seems sure to do better especially over further.

Breeding suggested he needed time and distance and that's been backed up by his two racecourse performances so far. Looks one for the longer term.

Well beaten in his sole bumper he's shown little in two hurdles starts so far having started at triple figures odds in all his starts.

150/1
Three bumpers have shown very little from the only mare in the field and she'll need to do a lot better on his hurdles debut to have a chance.

Forecasts

Blu Cavalier (6/4), Golden Sunrise (2/1), Samburu Shujaa (5/2), Mount Rushmoore (8/1), Farmer Boy (16/1), Drama King (33/1), Tango du Roy (66/1), Alminar (100/1), Igougo (100/1), Hally's Kitchen (150/1), Lapford Lad (150/1), Willie Mclovin (200/1), Menapian (250/1), Indigo Stamp (250/1)

Verdict

Quite a few of these will be better once they have a handicap mark to operate off and BLU CAVALIER is taken to build on his good comeback run last time out in the hope that he’s able to overcome his training problems. Golden Sunrise ought to be able to do better than he has so far but does need to improve on his recent effort and the biggest danger looks to lie with Samburu Shujaa whose recent form has already been boosted although a greater test of stamina looks as though it could prove beneficial. Mount Rushmoore is the most interesting hurdling debutante and he should run well on his first start over obstacles.
  1. Blu Cavalier
  2. Samburu Shujaa
  3. Mount Rushmoore
