First foal by Sixties Icon out of a maiden dam (Outside Art). Doing all of his best work late on debut at Lingfield last month (1m2f) when finishing fifth of eight to Desert Wind. Up in trip.
Nathaniel gelding out of a Green Desert mare who fetched 50,000 gns as a yearling. Looked in need of the race; slowly away, green and always in the rear, on debut at Lingfield last month (7f). Takes a huge hike in trip.
Unraced Cape Cross gelding out of the French 1m2f to 1m4f winner Everglades. Second foal with an appealing pedigree, so the market will be helpful in establishing his prospects.
Couldn't put the figures together on debut at Kempton last month when trailing home last of eight to Mercer's Troop (1m4f maiden). By Dylan Thomas out of a hurdle-winning dam, so perhaps he'll need more time and experience.
Had plenty of chances to break her duck for previous trainer John Gosden, but starts off life elsewhere having been sold for 30,000 gns last week. Her mark in the high 70's suggests she'll be competitive, but will she stay this longer trip?
Yeats filly who slowly appears to be putting it all in place as she steps up to a more suitable trip. Has valuable course experience, and was only beaten a nose and a head on her first try over this trip at Kempton latest.
75,000 gns yearling by Dansili who has appeared clueless at the start on each of her first two outings. Moves away from Lingfield now and goes up further in trip, and should have a role to play if breaking more professionally.
Forecasts
Pilgrim Soul (11/10), River Glades (9/4), Heather Lark (13/2), Sophie Gray (10/1), Banksy's Art (10/1), Given Name (40/1), The Accountant (50/1)
Nothing too much out of the ordinary seemingly lies lurking in this very winnable maiden, with perhaps only River Glades somewhat of an unknown. Sophie Gray should have something to offer eventually assuming she can overcome her issues with the stalls, whilst former stablemate Heather Lark will doubtless win a race or two for her new trainer Richard Spencer. However, the horse to be with is the improving Yeats filly PILGRIM SOUL. As her pedigree would imply, she looked all stamina when hitting the frame over this trip at Kempton recently, and is strongly fancied to go a couple of places better tonight with Wolverhampton experience also crucially banked.
- Pilgrim Soul
- River Glades
