Outran his odds to finish a good third on debut at Uttoxeter last time out. That was in November and he has been given a short break since, and is considered.
Not beaten far when third on rules debut at Newbury last time out. Holds claims if able to build on that effort.
Scorpion gelding who cost €50,000 as a 3yo and has an attractive pedigree. Has joined a top yard and is one to consider.
Beaten 31L into fifth on debut at Warwick last time out and that level of form is likely to see him come up a long way short here.
Not beaten too far when third at Hereford back in November on his first outing, but this is a much tougher race and he'll need to have come on from that.
Didn't show all that much improvement despite an improved placing at Haydock last time out. Needs to take a step forward now.
Didn't run too badly on debut at Hereford last time but would still need to improve to get involved in this potentially deeper event.
Kayf Tara gelding with some fair bumper form in his pedigree. Seems to be the stable's second string based on jockey bookings, however.
Milan gelding who cost €140,000 as a 3yo. Pedigree is good enough to suggest a market check would be sensible.
Most form in pedigree is on the Flat but by a good dual-purpose stallion in Norse Dancer. Represents a top yard in a tongue strap.
Cost €110,000 as a 3yo and dam was placed in bumpers. Yard isn't really firing at the moment though which is a mild concern.
Never a factor in two bumpers at Market Rasen (despite placing in the first of them), and likely to be outclassed here.
Seventh in two bumpers so far including in Listed company last time out. This is obviously easier but he still doesn't look up to winning.
Shirocco gelding who cost £46,000 as a 3yo. Some useful form in his pedigree but will possibly be better over further in time.
Forecasts
Ganache (11/4), Lord Walsingham (9/2), Coole Well (13/2), Lyndsays Lad (7/1), Renwick (8/1), Rhythm Is A Dancer (9/1), Sevarano (16/1), Copperhead (16/1), Balli Martine (20/1), Imperial Nemesis (20/1), Tankerton Boy (25/1), L'auberge Du Bois (50/1), Hymn And A Prayer (50/1), Goutez Moi (100/1)
Not quite as strong as the first division but still has the potential to be a very good contest, where Nicky Henderson's Ganache has the profile to go well. It may pay to side with the experience of COOLE HALL however, who was third at Newbury last month and seems to the type to improve for the run, especially now the yard is coming into form. Renwick, for the Skelton team, is another for the shortlist.
- Coole Well
- Ganache
- Renwick
