Other than a third place at Southwell (1m) in December, he hasn't been firing but he was a winner twice over this C&D earlier in his career and has made few visits since. No forlorn hope if putting best foot forward.

Won a maiden for Richard Hannon in 2016 but has struggled for his new connections, though hinted at better things to come on his return from a lengthy absence at Kempton (1m) last month. Tongue-tie introduced, market move would be interesting.

Shed maiden tag on his 21st start when landing a 1m handicap for Micky Hammond on heavy ground at Ayr in October but hasn't really kicked on for new yard on the AW this year. Others look more persuasive.

An 11-race maiden who underperformed at Wolverhampton (7f) on Monday but wasn't beaten far in her three previous starts over 6f and 7f. Shapes as though this step up in trip could be what she needs.

Winner of eight races for Declan Carroll but has been well beaten on all five starts for this yard on the AW between 6f and 1m2f with his mark dropping dramatically. First visit here, market should guide.

7/1
14-race maiden who likes to do things from the front. Just lacks a change of gear to see it out, as evidenced when readily overhauled at Lingfield (1m) last month. Dropped 2lb in what is a weaker grade, so not dismissed lightly.

6/1
A 15 race maiden who has been tried over a variety of trips, running his best recent race when a runner-up over 1m2f at Lingfield on his penultimate start. Big drop in trip after meeting trouble over 1m4f last time.

2/1
Seven race maiden who flattered to deceive on a few occasions between 6f and 1m5f, never really looking like getting his head in front. No sign of improvement on first start for this yard last month.

Forecasts

Babette (2/1), Naralsaif (3/1), Torch (3/1), Ertidaad (9/2), Nicky Baby (6/1), Tarseekh (7/1), Just Fred (10/1), The King's Steed (12/1), Gunner Moyne (12/1), Miningrocks (20/1)

Verdict

Low grade stuff and the angle into the contest could be siding with ERTIDAAD on his return to 1m. Suzi Best's gelding didn't quite fire under a penalty over 1m2f here last time but is better judged on his victory over C&D a week earlier - form which could easily suffice in this company. There may be more to come from Touch and Babette in new headgear whilst Gunner Moyne and Tarseekh wouldn't be out of things if putting their best foot forward.
