Despite a win at Brighton in the summer over this trip it's his AW form that stacks up better with form figures here reading 12. Looked unlucky to run into a progressive sort when runner-up here and deserved to go one better last time out over 1m2f; only 1lb higher and trip is fine.

A small field but a competitive one and BAN SHOOF has only been given a small rise for his last win here and he should be able to go close to following up with no fears over the trip. Conkering Hero is a solid type at this level and he looks to be the main danger. Strictly Art needs to bounce back but he’s a quirky sort and he might just have finished his winning spree while a fast run race would suit the maiden Malt Teaser although that looks relatively unlikely and a another place may be in the offing for him.
