Looked rather awkward on his first start on this surface last time out but made good ground after a slow start to win driven out from Star Ascending. Shouldn't be much between those two again providing the race pans out as well as it did on the last occasion.

Neither run here so far has really impressed and he often gets behind after a slow start which isn't ideal on this surface. Steps down in trip here but losing run is continuing to grow and not one to rely on.

Has shown some consistent form on Fibresand and got off the mark on the surface back in August although that was a fairly weak affair where she basically outstayed the opposition over 1f further. Looked as though she needed the run last time but should be competitive here.

It took a while for him to look fully effective on this surface but his last three runs over C&D distance have seen him go 122. Just touched off by Ochos Rios last time out there should be little between them here and he should again run his race.

Given his US-bred sire (One Cool Cat) he should be able to run well on this surface (sire has an 18% strike-rate here). He never really figured last time out at Wolverhampton over 1m4f but would have needed that run; has won off this mark on turf.

Another newcomer to Fibresand but by a sire who has a decent record on the surface. Not disgraced on his first run for this yard over a mile at Kempton last time and still relatively unexposed; interesting to see what he can do here and a market watch advised.

Took a step back in the right direction last time out at Newcastle over 1m4f although he may have been suited by the way the race was run. Without a win for a while and makes his Fibresand debut (pedigree suggests he'll act on the surface); well handicapped on his old form.

0/11 here and beaten on both times he's tried this trip and finished well held on his last start here earlier in the month over 2m. Best watched with others making more appeal.

Cheekpieces go on for the first time but she would have to find a lot of improvement to take a hand here with her only start on Fibresand showing little.

Two runs for this yard have shown very little having beaten only one rival home. She now makes her debut on this surface but it would be stretching the imagination to see her taking a hand in this.

Out over hurdles when last seen she showed very little ability and its been much the same on her Flat starts and she's easily passed over here.

Poor on the Flat so far she was tried over hurdles last time with similar results. Now makes her Fibresand debut but has little to recommend her.

Given a break before he was tried on Fibresand but has in reality shown little ability in the three starts here all over shorter trips. Now given a go over further but hard to make a solid case for him off the back of form figures of 766 here.

Ochos Rios (15/8), Star Ascending (9/4), Leonard Thomas (8/1), Master Of Song (8/1), Go On Gal (9/1), Stoneboat Bill (10/1), St James's Park (16/1), Red Douglas (20/1), Cool Music (20/1), Ambuscade (40/1), Thackeray (50/1), Hazy Manor (66/1), Fred's Filly (100/1), Rosie Hall (100/1)

Verdict

With form figures that read 2122 over C&D STAR ASCENDING looks to be the safest and most solid proposition here and he can reverse form with Ochos Rios from their meeting last time out. There are a few that might be able to make their mark in this if they take to the Fibresand with Leonard Thomas and Cool Music fitting neatly into that category as both are well handicapped. You could also give a chance to Master Of Song who looks to be on his way back and he’s another who is well weighted on his old form. Go On Gal is consistent on this surface and the race is probably a little more competitive than it looks on paper.
  1. Star Ascending
  2. Master Of Song
  3. Leonard Thomas
