Was entitled to win as easily as he did last time and this promises to be a lot tougher up another 12lb and against in-form rivals. Has really taken to this surface though, so not entirely dismissed.
The combination of this surface and headgear combination yielded a long overdue return last time. Ridden aggressively that day and there may not have been much left in the tank. Drop to 7f seems a wise move but 6lb higher now.
Backed to do better when dropped back into this grade last time (one win and two places from three starts). One of few in form contenders who are racing off the same mark as last time, but unproven on the surface.
Had the run of the race when fourth in a weak affair last time and needs to improve for the change of surface.
Has really taken to this surface and scored beyond 6f for the first time when landing a similar race here 11 days ago. Met with some interference that day and she is capable of defying a 2lb rise.
Sent on early in the straight out when registering sole success here in August. Has not repeated the feat since and the visor needs to produce positive results with an inexperienced rider on board.
Has bits and pieces of form that would give him a squeak and debuts for a yard that can produce significant improvement. The jockey booking already looks a positive move and the market should be a further guide.
Regular at this venue with three of his four career successes coming here. Has been running well in defeat here recently but latest victory was over three years ago now.
Looks well held by Declamation on recent running here and has little chance of reversing the placings from 6lb out of the handicap.
Forecasts
Spun Gold (11/8), Declamation (11/4), Best Tamayuz (9/1), Meandmyshadow (9/1), African Trader (12/1), Joey's Destiny (12/1), Pudding Chare (20/1), Noble Ballad (25/1), Red Shanghai (150/1)
Declamation has a less straightforward task than last time but we have seen this trainer excel with similar types in the past so he may not have finished improving yet. Rivals such as Spun Gold and Meandmyshadow are also up in the weights, but the latter may have had more in hand than the margins suggest last time having met with interference. African Trader catches the eye with an in-form rider engaged by a yard that are not afraid to have a go in the ring, but a chance is taken that JOEY'S DESTINY will handle this surface. He looks more reasonably treated than most of these and has a good enough record in this grade to suggest he represents each-way value.
- Joey's Destiny
- Declamation
- African Trader
