Unraced daughter of Arcadio purchased for €6,500 as a foal three years ago. Half-sister to the useful Caracci Apache. 5-1 but didn't get home on debut (soft) at Newbury last month. Can improve, but bit to prove on heavier ground.
1,600 gns purchase at two. Dam won on heavy ground over 1m2f/1m4f, out of Listed 1m5f winner. Should be okay on this ground on debut, but yard 0-53 in bumpers last five seasons, so looks one to watch.
€9,000 buy as a yearling. Out of unraced full-sister to 2m2f-2m3f hurdle/chase winner Master Sebastian. Closely related to prolific Wetherby and Grade 3 Cheltenham winner Mister McGoldrick. Stable 12% in bumpers. Market check.
Closely related to 1m-1m2f AW winner Elysian Prince. Dam 1m½f AW winner at two. 7-1 and ran well here (soft) on debut in similar event last month. Stuck on gamely. Experience will stand her in good stead here and she is respected.
Made a pleasing debut when 20-1 and 9L third in a similar race at Newbury (1m4½f, soft) last month, doing best of the debutantes there. With that under her belt, she could present more of a challenge this time.
Built on her modest debut effort with a very good one at Newbury (soft) last time, finishing 7L ahead of Maebh in second spot. She looks capable of going forward again this time and could prove tough to beat.
Full-sister to two lightly-raced maidens. Dam unplaced in bumpers and full-sister to French/GB 2m2f-2m4f hurdle/chase winner Inthjungle, out of half-sister to Ebor winner Far Ahead and good jumpers Tuitchev and Rare Bob. Market check on debut.
12-1 and made a quiet debut here in same race as Fforbidden Love last month. Should see some improvement for that today, though on pedigree heavy ground has to be a bit of a concern.
Forecasts
So Lonely (11/8), Fforbidden Love (5/1), Tara Force (5/1), Maebh (13/2), Aweeminit (9/1), Dares To Dream (12/1), Barrister (20/1), True Ballew (40/1)
Given that Fergal O'Brien has a 24% strike rate in bumpers this season, it would be foolish to write-off Aweeminit after a slightly underwhelming debut when sent off at just 5-1, so a much better effort would not surprise. Phil Kirby has half as many winners in this sphere, but his runners here merit plenty of respect, so market checks for both Dares To Dream and True Ballew would appear prudent. Fforbidden Love looks capable of building on a good debut effort here, but even more eyecatching was the performance of SO LONELY at Newbury on her introduction and she is taken to go one better today.
- So Lonely
- Fforbidden Love
- Aweeminit
