Cost 90,000 gns and looked a very useful recruit when making a winning debut at Haydock in June. Highly tried since. But posted a decent effort over C&D just before Christmas, so sets a good standard. Vulnerable to the less exposed types though.
Not shown much in two starts so far and has to be a tad disconcerting connections opt for the headgear today. Cost 100,000 gns as a two-year-old but already shaping as if he needs a stronger test of stamina.
Eighth of ten on debut at Wolverhampton just after Christmas and already has considerable improvement to find. Best watched.
Well related and represents a yard that does well with this type. Has C&D experience and shaped with promise on debut. Got the message late on that occasion but should be a bit wiser. Interesting if supported.
Cost €70,000 and is a half-brother to 7f AW winner Bruny Island. His dam handled an AW surface and the colt looks a interesting contender to be introduced at this time of year. Another to bear in mind. But is also likely to benefit from the run.
A half-brother to useful types from Germany, the colt made an inauspicious start over C&D last month. Possible there's more to come but also looks more likely to do better in handicaps.
No impact in either of his previous starts and very hard to get enthusiastic on that evidence. Best watched on AW debut.
Debut run at Yarmouth was nothing special and was regressive over C&D last time. Others much more appealing.
Cost 50,000 gns as a yearling and not without promise on debut over C&D last month. More required but his yard has never been noted for rushing its youngsters. Green on debut but sound place claims if setting better with that run under his belt.
Behind a couple of these on debut and plenty on his plate in his bid to reverse the form. Best left to his own devices this time around.
Highly likeable pedigree and represents mighty powerful connections. Qualifies for a mark after this but still interesting she is turned out on the AW at this time of year. One to bear in mind.
Cost 25,000 gns and is out of a dirt winner in the USA. Possible a sterner test of stamina will become before long and best watched on debut for a yard that has been pretty quite lately.
Forecasts
Albishr (3/1), Orchid Lily (4/1), Sovereign Duke (9/2), Legal History (6/1), Holy Shambles (7/1), Kapow (8/1), Ad Libitum (16/1), Vanity Vanity (33/1), Atticus Boy (66/1), Storm Again (66/1), Pass Mark (100/1), Miniature Daffodil (150/1)
Much depends on how much ALBISHR derived from his AW debut last month, where he possibly encountered a decent individual in finishing second to Charlie Appleby's Native Appeal. There doesn't look too much strength in depth and it's very possible the can brush this lot aside if he runs to his mark. Orchid Lilly and Sovereign Duke are potential improvers and spearhead the challenge from the rest, while support for Holy Shambles could also provide a decent portent for a sound each-way punt.
- Albishr
- Orchid Lily
- Sovereign Duke
