First start for new yard (formerly with Charlie Mann), never the most consistent even at his peak but capable and did spring a 25/1 surprise here back in 2016 (looked badly out form). Nothing wrong with mark if new trainer can coax him back to best.
Winner at Leicester last April, not really progressed as expected but did do better in the first time hood over this C&D last time out, sticking on well and only just done on the nod. Repeat of that must take her close from just 2lb higher mark.
Had looked on the downgrade but found some form from nowhere when a close fifth at Lingfield latest, doing all best work at the finish. If that wasn't a flash in the pan, and he can build on it, chances of doing better again here.
Won a Fakenham bumper back in 2016 and a couple of decent efforts after that, but not seen out since finishing second at Chelmsford back in October 2016. Likely to need this after an absence but a bit of market support would make her interesting.
Some while since he's been seen on the Flat but was in the process of running a better race at Taunton over hurdles last time out when falling just after halfway. Hardly looks thrown in off this mark, though, and others make more appeal.
Clearly not the horse he once was (for Hughie Morrison) but retains a level of ability, as he showed when a close second at Lingfield two starts back. Bottom line is he's not won another race since his debut though and on that, others preferred.
C&D winner in July, and came back off a break to finish a close sixth at Lingfield on latest start. Cheekpieces now added to help finishing effort and with every chance of improvement, looks one of the more likely ones.
Nothing if not consistent when last seen, and gained a deserved win at Wolverhampton on final start for his efforts. However, up another 3lb for that, which leaves little wriggle room, and likely to need this after an absence.
Came good at the ninth time of asking when taking a low-grade Southwell handicap, but has shown in the past he handles this surface fine. 3lb rise and raise in grade demands more, but now he's won one, no saying he won't win again.
Fairly enough handicapped but seems to have completely lost his form at present, and was well beaten at a big price latest. No realistic chance here.
Winner here over a furlong shorter than today's trip in October, but that was only a low-grade event and she's been held off her new higher mark since. Needs another step forward now, and others make more convincing cases.
Have to go back to 2015 to find the last time he got his head in front, so no win machine, but not totally disgraced at Lingfield last time and the handicapper gives him another useful drop in the weights. Could go okay at a price.
Forecasts
Flight Of Fantasy (3/1), Erinyes (4/1), Boychick (5/1), Top Beak (6/1), Status Quo (13/2), Sonnetist (12/1), Ardamir (14/1), Quebec (25/1), Potters Lady Jane (40/1), Beatisa (50/1), Sureness (50/1), Pack It In (150/1)
In the hope that the blinkers do the trick, ERINYES is given the vote in a trappy event. She ran well enough at Lingfield last time to think there's races in her off this mark, and she may well take a step forward tonight. Ardamir also looked on the way back to form last time and a repeat should see her on the premises as well. Flight Of Fantasy turned in a good effort last time out and has to be respected. At a bigger price, Quebec is worth a second look too.
- Erinyes
- Ardamir
- Quebec
