Won and placed on the fibresand and put in a good effort over when third this trip at Newcastle back in October. Held since however and a beaten favourite in a first time visor (absent today) over this trip at Southwell last time.

Out of form since winning over C&D in August 2016. Races off a 9lb lower mark as a result and he is an interesting runner on just his second start here since that success.

Placed over 1m at Bath (good-to-firm) in first time cheekpieces (replaced with a hood today) in June last year. Disappointing since and debuts for a new yard today.

Good effort to finish runner-up over 7f at Carlisle (good-to-firm) in May. Held since but plenty to like about her return from over four months off the track at Kempton over this trip last time out.

Successful three times last year including over C&D in March. Returning to form when beaten a short-head over C&D last time out and one for the shortlist off a 1lb higher mark on his return from a break.

Placed over this trip at Chelmsford in November 2016. Making his first appearance since being gelded when well beaten in a maiden over C&D in November and worth a check in the market on handicap debut.

Newcastle maiden winner over this trip on sole start for David O'Meara last September. Fair effort when 7L fourth of seven in a first time eyeshield (retained) over this trip at Chelmsford last time and poorly drawn today.

Well held in the main since winning a C&D claimer last July. Handicap mark is coming down rapidly as a result and he shaped as if a return to this trip would see him in a better light when finishing seventh over 6f here last time out.

Successful in a 6f claimer here back in June last year. Beaten just one rival home in two starts since and returning from a four month break today.

Forecasts

Arnarson (4/1), Tavener (9/2), Compass Hill (7/1), Clock Chimes (8/1), Little Miss Kodi (10/1), Air Of York (10/1), British Embassy (10/1), Amazing Grazing (10/1), De Little Engine (12/1), Joey's Destiny (14/1), Arlecchino's Leap (16/1), Alfonso Manana (16/1)

Verdict

TAVENER put in an improved effort when finishing runner-up over C&D and he can register his second victory at this course by claiming this competitive 0-70 contest. The selection seems to save his best efforts for this venue and he can get the better of Joey's Destiny who is likely to be suited by this return to 7f. The maiden Arnarson has been running well of late and can register his third placed effort in four starts by finishing third.
